Comfortable and convenient but needed to be cleaned.
Talk about location! In the heart of Hell's Kitchen, this apartment is less than a half mile from Times Square and other landmarks. For the price, there is absolutely no way you could beat it. Frankly, I'm shocked about the nightly price. Lang also was very attentive and arrival instructions were easy.
The only downside, I'd suggest bringing your own towels and pillow. We picked up a few down the street. However, for the price and location, you can't go wrong!!
Great appartment, great location. Would totally recommand this.
This appartment just miss a living room, but you're not in NYC to stay into the appartment ! ;-)
5-10 Mn from Time Square, Subway
Excellent location! Apartment is compact as described but ideal for sightseeing in New York. Comfortable during this cold period due to good heating system, great shower and comfortable beds. Adequate kitchen to prepare breakfast and packed lunches. Equipped with hairdryer and iron for convenience. Location makes travel to Newark Airport easy from Penn station and subway routes are easily accessible. Walking distance from Times Square and all the big Broadway shows! Thanks Lang!
I had a wonderful experience staying at Lang's apartment. The key pick up went very smooth and Lang was very accommodating. I was concerned about the apartment being cold and he left extra blankets for me which I appreciated greatly. The apartment was clean and was indeed like portrayed in the photos. I would stay again for sure. Thank you Lang!
Great host, Lang is very kind and warmest, the room is good. The only thing that I think could be improved is the heat in some of the rooms, they can be chilly when it comes into winter time in NY.
Our one night stay was very comfortable. The apartment is a bit small (no living room) but will be perfect for a short visit of NY. The location is just perfect : 5-10 min from times square by feet.
We arrived in New York on a 14 degree day, and it didn't get much warmer our entire trip. I was really concerned about the cold air that had been mentioned in earlier posts, and it was a little bit of an issue the first night. The second night I bought a roll of packing tape, and taped the gaps on the window in question. Much better. The bedding was clean, the place smelled neutral. The apartment was not clean by hotel standards, but if I were going to stay with a friend, it would probably be on par with that. Nothing nasty, no bugs, no weird smells. My sister would hate it, but it worked great for me. It is just a place to sleep. There is no hanging out space. I was in town for Toy Fair, and it was two blocks from the Javitz, so that was perfect. It was a bit farther to the nearest subway than I would like, but safe enough walking between the two. Just 14 degrees!!! The last day I had bought tickets to go see the tenement museum, and Lang let us keep our bags there rather than drag them round town after check out. That made our day so much better. All in all, I would say not for a princess, but the average adventurer should enjoy the proximity of their crash pad to Times Square., go to sleep and get up and do it all over again. Very fast Wi-Fi. Indian food right next door was delicious too, and the Thai food up the street, and the wood fired pizza across the street.
I've been to NYC around a dozen times now (6 times with airbnb, 5-6 times at various hotels), and I have to say that this was absolutely the best experience I've had. First, the host was very responsive and communicative. The home was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. I loved that it was on the first floor (no lugging bags up and down stairs), but I was concerned that the first floor and the location would make the room noisy. Turns out the place is whisper quiet; even quieter than staying on a high level floor at a hotel. Location is great and close to all the touristy stuff. I personally prefer the lower east side, but if this is your first few times in NYC, being this close to Times Square and Hell's Kitchen is a must.
I've found my NYC home of choice, and will definitely recommend this home to friends and family as they plan their trips to NY.
Lang was very accommodating with arranging the arrival at the apartment. The unit is small with two bedrooms and a kitchen and bath, but has everything you would need for a trip to NY. Location was great within a few blocks of Time Square and plenty of bars and night shops in the area.
