We had an excellent stay at Anne-Marie's apartment in Montreal. The neighborhood is pedestrian friendly and leafy green, with many convenient stores and restaurants. Bixi bike rental is very close by. The apartment is comfortable and newly remodeled, we loved it. She was readily available and helpful with advice about our visit. We will definitely stay again when visiting Montreal, if available!
A great stay with Anne-Marie! This was a very, very charming and beautiful apartment with fantastic historical charm but yet modernized, was in a pretty nice location, and about 10 mins or so of a drive from the main attractions of Montreal.
I loved the character of the apartment as it is so much nicer than a regular hotel in my opinion. I also really liked how this apartment was set up, where the bedroom was separate from the living room. She had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner with, the bed was medium to med. firm I would say, and she was a very lovely host to us. She was happy to have our baby along, and was very accommodating to both her and our bikes as she let us store them in her back fenced-in yard for safety. Anne-Marie was also kind enough to let us do a load of laundry, which was great!
Our only feedback was that is was a little warm for us, all though we had a fan which was nice, but still a little warm in the apartment in late Aug., and there was a party going on upstairs that we could hear a good bit of, (we are earlier sleepers than most as we're up early with our baby,) including some beautiful opera singing, but it stopped at 10:30 or 11.
The place is close to a very nice park and some good restaurants, and is what I might say is a standard Montreal-looking neighborhood- not the most picturesque one per say, lots of parking and people shoved next to one another into apartments like every other major city that's close to down town but not in it, but it gave us a look at the normal, everyday life of a Montreal-en.
Overall, it was a great stay and I highly recommend the place! We loved Montreal and hope you will too. Thanks Anne-Marie!
Anne-Marie was a gracious and helpful hostess.
We found her place to be in a perfect location, close to everything but still in a quiet neighborhood. When we walked in it felt like home, warm and tastefully decorated.
We had a carefully detailed map of restaurants, and all the other places necessary bakeries, parks, etc., Anne-Marie even provided us with items for breakfast and chocolate!
The delightful little restaurant just two doors away was the finishing touch to a perfect stay.
Anne-Marie's place was perfect == great location, lovely host and a beautiful space. The apartment has gorgeous exposed wooden beams and stained glass detailing throughout. Our train arrived around 10 p.m., and Anne-Marie made sure we got the key no problem. Would definitely choose this again.
Exactly like in the pictures, Anne-Marie's flat is just perfect ! If it was not the location, it was her very honest, and kind welcome. My sister and I felt instantly at home. Waiting for us in the fridge was a bottle of rosé, bagels, butter, home-made jam, and fruit juice. The flat is very clean, quite, and close to the very hip, mile-end. Merci beaucoup pour tout !!
I hosted Anne-Marie for 5 days. She is from Montreal where I had lived for a year when I was a university student. So I enjoyed talking about Montreal listening to the difference between now and 20 years ago.She is a professor and works very hard. I sometimes saw a strong part in her. Where she talked about her chilrden, she was smiling a lot. She is a superwoman working hard and loving her children from the bottom of her heart. Next time take your children to Kyoto. I also know good places for children. Thank you for sharing time with me.
Anne Marie came at our place with her daughter, a very nice girl, used to travel and to discover the cities! They are expert travellers, passionate to art and to culture, they love exploring and talking and besides they respect your privacy and your place.
Nothing to complain and we will definitely love to host them again when back in Firenze!
Enjoy your Italian trip and welcome back again!
