I am originally from Denver, Colorado. I lived in New Mexico for college, earning a double degree in Archaeology and Philosophy. I moved to Portland, Oregon in 2007, meeting my girlfriend (of nearly 7 years now) only two weeks after I arrived. Together, we have Penelope, a 11 year old dachshund/basset hound mix (who stays with friends when we travel). Since moving to the Northwest, I have developed a depth of food and cooking knowledge, an extreme interest in agriculture (soils, specifically), and a love of good craft beer.
We recently relocated to Corvallis, OR so that I could attend graduate school at Oregon State University, studying soil science. With my background being in archaeology, I'm presently working on research involving a Roman site located on the southern coast of Italy.
