That was unforgettable adventure! Tipi tent in the middle of the forest near the frozen lake – quite chilly but magic night. And in the morning we saw some steps of the Elks next to the tipi! We also spend two nights in the modern house in the village. Sonny was great host. He knows a lot about the wild nature. He took us to meet Sami people working with reindeers! That was great experience! Watching hundreds of this beautiful animals in the winter forest was amazing. And a cup of hot coffee and delicious cake he took for us after this trip was a “cherry on the of top of the wedding cake”:) It was a pleasure to meet him. We loved the tipi, the house, the owner and the area. We can't wait to come back there in the summer.
Sonny's cabin in the wood was really nice! A great experience for those who want to be far away from everything anf listen to the nature. We did cross coutry skiing and just walked in the nature, it was so silent and peaceful... It was a little bit cold in the cabin though, but maybe it's just because we are not accostomed to the northern climate :)
Very nice place to stay! You have all you need for a comfortable stay and just amazing nature around you. We took a flight to Sweden (Skelleftea) and from there we took the bus to reach Abborrtrask. Sonny picked us up at the bus stop to bring us to the accommodation (but you could walk it as well). Both Sonny and his partner Karin are great hosts with a lot of knowledge of the area. We joined one of there activities (ice fishing), which was an unforgettable experience (small group/very personal/lake in the middle of nature)! We will come back and are looking forward to discover this part of Sweden in a different season!
WOW...this was a really unforgettable experience. On the morning of our stay in the Tipi, we joined the ice fishing activity which is at the lake where the tipis are located, a 30 min ride from the village to the exact edge of the forest + a snowmobile ride (sledge with reindeer skins) through the forest to the lake. After the Ice fishing we had the forest to our own, a tipi tent filled with reindeer skins and more than enough wood to keep us cosy and warm. We also tried out cross country skis on the lake and the forest. Nearby the lake starts a nature reserve, all for you to discover. We had an unforgettable experience, felt closer to nature and returned to the city all relaxed and happy! Sonny and his wife are great hosts who have a lot of knowledge of the area...we lost our heart in Sweden
We had a unforgettable experience in Swedish Lapland. Our hosts Sonny and Karin welcomed us with a delicious meal on New Years Eve. Reindeer stew followed by berry pie. A real treat. The next day we went ice fishing with Sonny, around noon they prepared a lovely meal with the freshly caught fish. That night we stayed in the tipi tent. For all the people who want to get closer to nature, this is the place to be! We lost our heart here... We'll visit again.
Sonny took very good care of us, was friendly and knowledgable, a better host in the Arctic climate in wintertime is hard to find.
We had an excellent stay at the cabin, it is absolutely beautiful and the surrounds are stunning. Sonny was incredibly helpful and friendly (and interesting). We will definitely be back!
A wonderful experience in an incredible location. Sonny was extremely helpful and very knowledgable when it came to ice fishing in the nearby lake. I would definitely recommend this!
You will feel a very long way from anyone out here. With the exception of an occasional bunch of friendly soldiers skiing past, it's just you and the landscape. It's a simple setup, 4 beds, a table and chairs, a wood burner and a outhouse/toilet for when nature calls. There is no electricity so I would advise taking lots of batteries and candles. A trip here in the winter is not for the faint hearted but very rewarding. Northern lights were regularly visible and the stars are magnificent. The place is magical!
Sonny is prompt and helpful, thanks for letting us stay!
