"Tevandshuset" was amazing and Annika was very helpful!
Really great location by the lake with the woods in the backyard and a beautiful garden with a trampoline for the kids. Fine houses - especially the small house is nice furnished. The big house has some lacks - missing lightning in the kitchen for instance. It's heated by electric radiators and floor heating, so do expect an extra cost especially in cold weather. We payed +300 kr per day in march/April for electricity.
We have just spent two weeks at Annika's lovely house. Annika was easy to deal with as a host & the house was welcoming & comfortable.
Compared with several stays in Denmark this was the best House we ever had. The location beside the lake and the forest is beautiful, the house is very nicely furnished and the garden provides lot of space for playing and enjoying the fresh air (or sun if there is any). Even with bad weather there's a lot to see in a very close distance from the house.
The contact with Annika was very professional and warm - she is 'on air' all the time to answer questions and offer help.
We had a wonderful time at Annika's house. The location at Esrom Sø is idyllic and very quiet, exactly what we wanted. The two houses are lovely decorated and in a very good shape. Our kids loved the toys existing in the house and playing in the big garden and the lake. We had no problem staying there even with smaler kids, because the water is very shallow the first meters.
The house is a good starting-point to visit Kopenhagen and Northsealand.
A truly idyllic and lovely place at the shore of Lake Esrum. Two charming, very clean and well-equipped cottages in a parklike surrounding. The beautifully maintained garden is a perfect playground for kids. The location proved to be an excellent base for (car) trips to the nearby castles (Frederiksborg/10min, Fredensborg/10min, or Hamlet's Kronborg Slot/20min), to the beautiful beaches of North Zealand (Hornbaek, Gilleleje, or Liseleje/20min ... but beware of the jellyfishes!), to the outstanding Louisiana Museum (20min), or to downtown Copenhagen (30min/car; 40min/train from Hillerod). Only inconvenience: There is at times an unpleasant smell of seaweed/algae in the air, and swimming in the lake is not always possible due to algae and sea-grass washed ashore. Nevertheless, a highly recommendable place, with very friendly and responsive owners!
Dear Alex, Margaret, Tinus and Nicolas
Thank you for your very positive review. Is was a joy and very uncomplicated having as guests. Hope to see you back in Denmark in the future.

This summer cottage with his idyllic garden and sea access is a paradise!
It has a very well decorated interior arrangement and a special atmosphere.
Annika is very, very nice and likeable - every thing was great.
The house is a good starting point for visiting the beaches of North Sealand, Helsingør or the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
We had a wonderful time!
Super House, nice lake, we had a wonderful time.
Annika arranged everything very well.
A really lovely spot for a holiday or just to chill out. Both houses are recently renovated, and very comfortable - especially once the heating kicks in! Thry property has a beautiful garden and backs on to forest with walking tracks and picnic sites- idyllic indeed! While there were some rather necessary items missing - e.g. drying rack for clothes, dustpan and broom, colander- Annika was very quick to respond and provided for all our needs. One thing to keep in mind is that in the middle of spring swas of little 'dancing mygge' come up from the lake and fly around. They don't sting or seek out humans, and they're only around for two weeks, but if that's the two weeks you're staying there then it's good to know about them. It's hard to predict when they'll come by calendar dates though - its when the water in the lake heats up to 9 degrees ( for us 12-28 April, but could be later in a colder year).
All in all a great experience. A great house in a great environment. Had all amenities needed in the kitchen and bathrooms to make it feel like a real home experience. Nothing to complain about! Very friendly owners that fixed the small electrical issues there were with the outer lights with immediate effect, by sending an electrician.
Annika is a great guest.
