I'm from Nicaragua, medical student, and love to travel!
Ah, where to begin.... I sat in my car for well over 2 hours before Francisco contacted me with the code to the lockbox so I could get in. The bed was unmade and when I put on the fitted sheet I noticed several stains and a long black hair. (I didn't use it.). The tub, bathroom floor and shower all had hairs and dust covering them. Then, about an hour after I got in, the home owner arrived to see if I was O.K. No, it wasn't Francisco! When he was going to be out of town, Francisco used Airbnb to rent out the room he was renting. The actual owner, a very lovely lady, had just learned of this scheme a few days earlier and advised him to cancel the reservations he had set up after mine.
If you were feeling adventurous and wanted an unkempt room provided by a devious, untrustworthy schemer, then Francisco would have been your man. Sadly, he'll soon be leaving his current address. If he inquires about renting a room with you, just say NO!
The reservation was canceled 21 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Francisco was a great host, very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend him to anybody in need of convenient, affordable housing in Portland!
Francisco's condo was exactly as described. It is new, clean, large and centrally located. I was in town for a conference and it could not have been easier to get downtown, the bus stop is just steps from the door and less than 10 minutes from the city center. Francisco could not have been friendlier and more helpful. He went overboard to let me know that, although I had just booked one room, the whole condo was available for my use.
Food Tip: Try the Corbett Fish House - just a 1/4 mile from the condo and definitely worth a visit if you are craving either seafood or beer or both.
A very nice man.
