Though we didn't get to meet Lindsay and her friends, we didn't receive any negative feedback from the Jockey Club, so I will assume that they were decorous guests.
This was a difficult booking, requiring an enormous amount of work and juggling on our part. When Lindsay arrived at the resort, there apparently were some problems with check-in and parking. This was during Electric Daisy Carnival, the Strip was teeming with visitors, and hotels were swamped. Having to wait half an hour after check-in time was unfortunate; this is the first time we've heard of something like this happening, but it is highly unusual. Being told that she had to pay for valet parking could have been remedied if she had notified us of the problem, but that didn't happen. Guests are not restricted to the Jockey Club's parking area at the Cosmopolitan - they can park for free in any spot in the Cosmopolitan's garage. And valet parking is not owned by the Jockey Club; it's a concession, as it is most everywhere else. We would have dealt with that issue and attempted to get the money were refunded, if we'd known about it.
This is also the first time any of the many guests we've hosted at the Jockey Club - in both one- and two-bedroom units - have complained about the decor being dated. And we clearly state in our listing that the photos shown are of a one-bedroom unit. The resort underwent a massive, complete renovation in 2012, and our guests have raved about the decor. Lindsay's was the two-bedroom, which received the same update. I guess the old adage is true: ...You can't please all of the people all of the time." But when you've come to Vegas and paid an average of $32 per night per person - during EDC - for a full two-bedroom apartment in the heart of the Strip...
I will absolutely concede that not having the cleanliness up to snuff is not acceptable. I suspect that yes, the Jockey Club may not have been fully prepared for the onslaught of EDC, which has been here only a few years and has grown exponentially each year. This was an anomaly, for the cleaning standards are usually exceptional. We know this from experience, since we've stayed there many times ourselves.
I definitely agree with all of the above and appreciate your response. I was unaware that the valet was a separate vendor and didn't think to bring it up. Thank you again for your great communication and understanding.
Responsible & pleasant guests.
Good communications throughout.... Left Everything in terrific shape on check out!!
Lindsay was a pleasure to have and we were very grateful for her patience and good humor when we were stuck in traffic. She is fun and joyful and has great 'vibes'; she was very prepared what to do and see in our desert, we hardly had to give suggestions.
She will always be very welcome to stay with us again, alone or with her friends.
