We are lively, fun, responsible--all in all, not too bad for old people!
We enjoy the world and connecting with real people everywhere. Generally, we prefer to explore the offbeat and off-season. Our interests are broad. Rici is fascinated by nature, art, music, and architecture; to her, every built environment offers clues about its community's history, cultures, regional influences, and relationships to the land.
Michael is an avid reader and historian, with a special interest in European and US history from the late 19th c. to the mid-20th c. He's also a dedicated cyclist--one of the reasons we live in sunny Tucson, Arizona.
At home, we enjoy hiking, cooking with friends, sharing a great bottle of wine over fascinating conversations, and reading. As hosts, we love to make our guests feel at home and give them plenty of privacy while staying available for conversation and companionship.
Michael is a retired health care executive, while Rici is a freelance interpretive planner, writer, and trainer. Her clients are National Parks, museums, scenic byways, wildlife refuges, botanic gardens, archeological sites...anyone with visitors and important cultural or natural resources to protect. Rici helps her clients create effective, memorable visitor experiences (interpretive exhibits, tours, scenic byway experiences, etc.)--that build a stewardship ethic and strengthen community relations.
