Only two blocks to Crux Fermentation Project and Boneyard. Walking distance to both the old mill district and downtown. Easy access to the Mt Bachelor road. We only drove to Safeway once and then to Mt Bachelor, otherwise we walked everywhere.
Derek emailed us a couple days before our visit to make sure we were on the same page for getting us into the house. The house was a great setup with the dogs. A couple growlers were left in the house were a nice touch. Although we heard a couple trains go by in the night it was only a low rumble and didn't both us.
This is in a very active residential neighborhood. The next door neighbors had a yard sale while we were there which added tons of traffic in front of the house. Even without it lots of people walking by all day. Loved the location and we hope we can visit again soon
We thoroughly enjoyed Derek's home on NW Delaware. The location can't be beat...walking distance from a great restaurants and a brewery right around the corner! His home is the perfect size accommodated my husband, me, my son and our dog + our 3 mountain bikes just fine! The backyard was a perfect spot to hang out when the weather was nice and our dog felt right at home.
Very welcoming and turnkey experience. The yard was great and the beds were comfy, and the house's location was close to everything we wanted to be near. Derek made it very easy for us to get in and out, we enjoyed the stay!
Denise was very helpful when we arrived. The place is way, way nicer then the photos. Very nicely redone older home. We were impressed and we are picky! The location is amazing, close to old mill and downtown as well as a lot of nice coffee shops, restaurants and bakery's. Everything about this place is a win! Also it is very warm for an older house, is was 4 degrees outside when we arrive in a jeep with no heat so we really appreciated that!
We had a great time in Bend staying in Derek and Denise's historic bungalow. We are contemplating a move to Oregon and this gave us an amazing opportunity to see what living in one of these houses would be like. It was exceedingly charming. We didn't get a chance to meet Derek, but Denise was wonderful -- giving us excellent restaurant recommendations for a late night meal -- that turned out to be some of the best food that we had on our trip (and we had a lot of outstanding meals!).
Our host met us right on time and showed us around. Everything was simple, organized, clean and cozy. The backyard was perfect for our dog. Bend is the most dog-friendly town I've ever seen. The location was perfect with great eats and hikes nearby.
Two thumbs (and a paw) up!
Very comfortable, conveniently located house. If you have a pet, this is a great property because of its fenced backyard. Within walking distance of downtown Bend and the Old Mill District, you won't be lacking for access to fun shops and restaurants. We especially loved that Crux Brewing is a very short 5-min or less walk away!
Beautifully appointed, cozy, clean and comfortable, this was the ideal house for us. Perfectly located on a gorgeous tree-lined avenue with charming historic bungalows and walking distance to town (and to Jackson's cafe - absolutely delicious!) With the lovely fenced-in backyard for our little dogs, a peaceful deck to enjoy a glass of wine, we felt perfectly at home. On our next visit, we'll be sure to stay longer then 2 nights! Many thanks to Derek and to the lovely Denise (who welcomed us) for the perfect mini getaway.
Great location. Convenient to walk or bike to downtown. We loved our stay in Bend! And it was great to have house to come home to after an active day. Hot shower, comfy beds, French press for coffee, a nice back porch and a washer/dryer for our dirty bike clothes. We'll be back for sure.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay here. Derek and Denise were great to work with and very accommodating. The house was lovely, and a perfect fit for a week with my husband and in-laws. Everybody was very happy with their stay. The location was great, it was only a 10-minute walk into downtown.
