Hi, I'm an Australian journalist living and working in Hong Kong. I love scrabble!
Two of us stayed in Olivia's room for ten days in January. My boyfriend needed a quiet place to study and I wanted to be centrally located for exploring. The location is brilliant - Aberdeen St is super close to all the best bars and restaurants, and smack bang in the middle of two MTR stations. The room is small, as you'd expect. Probably suits a single person a lot better than a couple. The bed is comfortable and big enough for two. The bathroom is wet room style. Two flatmates were home in the evenings but they hung out in their rooms. Thanks for having us!
I enjoyed my brief stay in Hong Kong. Unfortunately due to my arrival and departure times I did not meet Olivia but she made sure I could find her apartment easily and a friend of hers filled me in on everything I needed to know for my stay. It is in an interesting and vibrant old central area and it is a healthy walk to ferries and trains. The steps up to her third floor are quite steep and the area is quite hilly so it would not be good for anyone with mobility concerns as you do have to be able to carry your gear and climb several flights of stairs. If you are young or older and fit you will be fine.
Olivia was very nice and she gave me all informations about HK.
The location of the apartment was perfect, is 5 minutes walk to Central subway station. House was fully equipped. Room was nice and comfy.
The location of the apartment was perfect and Olivia is really nice. The only negative things was that there was no curtains or shutter in the room so bring a mask to sleep :)
Olivia welcomed us so warm, even though i made her wait so long,
the location is definitely perfect, just middle of Mid-Level Area.
Her house was fully equipped, Air conditioner worked well, and it was cozy. She was always ready to help us, and i guess to the all of future guests too :)
I can definitely recommend her house to any traveler :)
We had the pleasure of hosting Olivia on a couple of occasions. Both times she was tidy and courteous. Unfortunately I (Nic) never got to meet her, but, like most of our other guests, she was an independent traveler who managed to get around easily on her own. We look forward to getting to know her better when she relocates to HK. All the best with the move!
