Monica and he companionship were sweet people!
I had no problems with Monica during her stay. However, after her stay, I was quite surprised to receive very negative feedback for such things as an insufficient number of towels and blankets, even though she never asked for these things during her stay. If I were staying at a hotel and needed additional towels, I wouldn't stay quite about it and then write a negative review on tripadvisor. No, I would call the front desk and ask for more towels.
Other parts of her review were blatant lies (she claimed I didn't provide hand towels) or gross embellishments (she claimed the kitchen was poorly equipped because the glasses weren't from the same set and that there was not enough lighting in a room with a dozen working lights).
When she checked in, I explained to her group that the apartment telephone was not working, and they nonchalantly claimed they would not have used it, anyway. But later, in her review, she suddenly decided that this was important to her, accusing me of false advertising because I temporarily could not provide this service.
All my other reviews have been positive, yet Monica's stay was, in her words, worse than in a third world country.
So I advise fellow apartment owners to carefully consider whether you want to rent to Monica. If her stay at my apartment is any indication, she'll claim everything is good during the stay, then write an unwarranted, exaggeratedly critical review, damaging your reputation. I welcome deserved, constructive criticism, as that helps me improve. But exaggerations and lies have no place on Airbnb.
Unfortunately, I could not recommend renting to Monica.
