We recently moved from Atlanta, GA to Williston, VT. We love spending time on Lake Champlain, swimming, hiking, boating, and traveling.

This rustic camp on Lake Champlain is an extraordinary place. It is definitely for those travelers who want the feel of camping out but with a solid roof over their heads. It is a basic accommodation with a good shower, nice bed, fireplace, small kitchen, and a gorgeous living room that overlooks the lake and has big picture window doors that open to a large deck. You feel as though you are practically in the lake. There is no heat but to my surprise the temperatures were very mild for October. The camp has everything you need and was very comfortable for a 2 night stay. There are cabins close by so it is not remote but because it was October the area was very quiet and there were opportunities for nice walks. The camp is down by the water so you park your car at the top on the road and walk down quite a few steps. There is another separate small camp building with 2 single beds, a washer and dryer, and a half bath. Lisa was lovely to communicate with prior to our arrival. The camp was clean, though of course there are the usual bugs here and there. She provided heaters, firewood and extra bedding if the nights got cold but the weather turned out to be lovely. We lost the water for a few hours on one day but found out we just needed a hose clamp and Lisa brought that over pretty quickly. She also offered us the use of another cabin in the meantime and allowed us to stay as late as we needed to on our last day because we were the last of her seasonal guests. The beauty of the place is beyond compare and if you appreciate the outdoors, you will love the lake, the picnic table and the outdoor fire pit. It's a place to find some inner peace and get some serious R&R.
This camp had everything we needed for a rustic autumn getaway. Though the cabin is not heated, Lisa equipped the bedroom with an electric space heater and plenty of cozy blankets on the bed, and having hot water to shower in helped quite a lot too. Gorgeous, peaceful, cozy, lovely hideaway location. Easy drive to Burlington for restaurants and the Stowe area for a leaf-peeping adventure. I'd love to come back in the summer to enjoy the deck and the lake more!
Another beautiful and memorable weekend at the cottage. Cozy, clean and functional. Lisa was very accommodating and gracious. Fun times were had by all dogs and humans. Highly recommended for a rustic yet comfortable stay on the lake. And the Fiddlehead Brewery just down the road is great!
The cabin was perfect: on a bluff facing over Champlain Lake. On a windy night you can sit in front of the fire and listen to the waves crash against the shore. A perfect getaway spot. Contrary to what some of the other reviews here say, the cabin came with plenty of conveniences - a fully loaded kitchen (including condiments and all necessary utensils,) clean towels and toiletries, fresh bedding...
The property itself is close to a few key perks, including several tennis courts, a hiking mountain and a very charming country store (amazing sandwiches.) There's a small town with a supermarket and pharmacy about 10 mins drive away, and Burlington is only 20 minutes up the highway.
We would definitely come back!
Unfortunately Lisa was sick during our stay at the cottage so we never got to meet her. She did keep in contact through texts and voice mail. (The reception down at the cottage was spotty)
The place is charming. The view of the lake is amazing. The sunsets were spectacular.
We loved our stay at Lisa's cabin. Wonderful sunsets, swimming nearby, steaks on the Grill. We took day trips to Mt Philo, Bristol, and Burlington. Cooked great meals and sat out on the deck. For us, the rustic elements (dealing with a bug here and there, sparse furnishings) were all part of the charm. Frankly, if she ever sells it, we hope she reaches out to us.
Lisa was accessible, helpful, flexible, and friendly, and respectful of our privacy. Thanks again!
The house was perfect for us out-of-towners to use as a place to stay for a friend's wedding. It was clean, comfortable and the pictures are a very accurate depiction of the property.
Lisa was warm, hospitable and friendly. If I ever had to stay in the area in the future I would love to rent Lisa's house again.
Absolutely perfect location and adorable cabin on a dirt road along Lake Champlain in northern Vermont, the expansive deck you see pictured in Lisa's photos is where we spent the bulk of our time, enjoying quiet time in the morning, and watching the amazing sunsets over the lake and mountains in the evening. Cabin is a great home base for either a romantic or solo get away, or as a place to explore the Lake Champlain region with family and friends. The beds are comfortable, the water pressure is good, and there's even a washer and dryer for guests to use in the smaller cabin. Grocery stores are an easy 15-20 minute drive, and for quick fortification, there are two small food stores that sell sandwiches, groceries, coffee and wine/beer in "downtown" Charlotte. Lisa was responsive via text, answering all of our questions, and even offered to let us use her family's kayaks located at a different camp, which was very welcoming.
There's much to do within only a 30 mile radius of the cabin - the top-notch Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms, several sandy beaches on Lake Champlain in Burlington, public tennis courts in Charlotte and Shelburne, amazing, lightly-traveled long rolling roads with beautiful, farmland views on which to take long bike rides, and great options for easier nature hikes, as well as more vertical hiking challenges. There's even two enormous dog parks nearby (one in Shelburne, one in Burlington), and an art movie theater in Burlington for rainy day movie viewing, and a bowling alley in South Burlington for families with restless kids. I would gladly return to this lovely cabin on the lake!
This was my first experience with airbnb and it was a wonderful one. Lisa was incredibly helpful and communicative before we arrived in Vermont, and she made us feel very welcome in her beautiful home. The home is gorgeous, located in a quiet neighborhood just 10 minutes from downtown Burlington, with beautiful views. We would absolutely love to stay here again in the future!
My wife, young daughter, and I had a wonderful time at the Rustic Camp on Lake Champlain. It was extremely quiet, cozy, and relaxing. Beautiful sunsets looking west across the lake each night.
Lisa was very warm and helpful. We highly recommend this spot for any Lake Champlain-related vacation, and would definitely stay here again ourselves.
Lisa and her family are fabulous guests!
