Young working professional. Clean and nice!
Stayed for 2 nights in Aug. Vanessa was easy and quick to respond once we connected on BNB and helped us with directions once we arrived in New York. The apartment was not quite ready but we were able to drop off our luggage so that we could go on our way.
The studio is very small and could be cleaner. Sheets and towels were washed but fridge and floors needed more attention.
For a traveler on a budget for a short stay - not bad.
My wife and I took a trip to New York this summer, and staying at Vanessa's place was the perfect location for our trip. we were minutes from the Empire State building as well as the subway line that was able to connect us to just about anywhere in the city we wanted to go.
Vanessa was great to work with when booking her place, and she checked in on us (via text) throughout our stay to make sure we were happy. She even assisted us in getting a Pedi-cab tour of Central Park with one of the nicest and knowedgeable riders in the city!
Her place was a little small...which was expected as it is a studio, but for 2 people it worked out just great! we had enough space for our stuff and we weren't on top of each other at any point, and even though it is a studio, the bathroom was very spacious.
Anyone looking to stay in New York, and plan on spending most of your time on the island, this is the place to be!
Vanessa's apartment is in a prime location for any traveler to NYC offering easy access to transportation, food, and many attractions within walking distance (Empire State, Times Sq, Madison Square Garden, etc.). Upon arrival, we were treated to clean linens, fresh towels, and basic toiletries all laid out on a freshly arranged bed. There was even a business card with her contact information and the password to the wifi network. Vanessa responded quickly to all communication, including texts and email, and picking up the key was a painless stop in Midtown on the way to her apartment from JFK. There was never any problem with access to her apartment and leaving the place was as simple as sliding the key under her door on our last morning. Vanessa remained in constant contact throughout the stay and even offered to arrange for other services in NY.
The photos are an honest rendition of an older yet well-maintained apartment. The apartment is not large and the building is old-fashioned but with a doorman and elevator. Those thinking spacious digs should look elsewhere, but for our needs, her cozy studio offered more than enough comfort. Prices in that location are prohibitively expensive and Vanessa's apartment is an affordable option for those unwilling to pay the Manhattan premium.
Both before and after our stay, Vanessa was truly an ease to work with and I will definitely contact her again if the need arises. I wish all future travelers the best.
I had a great stay in this adorable studio. It felt like a home away from home, the bed was very comfortable, the studio itself was clean and had a great energy flow (I really appreciated some of the feng shui elements). The hostess was great as well, and clearly took this exchange seriously. I would definitely stay here again, and would choose this over many NYC hotels!
It was an absolute joy to host Vanessa and Steve. Aside from being very well organized, communicating plans and needs way in advance, and making it very easy to accommodate them, they are responsible and resepectful, yet fun, and so easy going - we had such a great time meeting them- and surely hope to meet them again . Until then we wish them all the best for the exciting travels that lie ahead !
