We love traveling, running, volleyball, baking, gardening and playing with our non-human animal friends outside. Pretty laid back and quiet and love meeting people and hearing their stories.

Laurel and Eric were so kind they accepted my request to stay one night with a rather short notice. They are truly great folks! I was exhausted by the time I got there, and I needed a good rest. The bed was very comfortable, the place was quiet, the furry companions were very nice, too...I got the rest I needed. I liked the vegetarian rules and I appreciated the good coffee and to-go cup I could use. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
My sister and I were only in Blacksburg for one night, but Laurel and Eric were very kind and welcoming. Parking was exceptionally easy. There are several cats and a dog in the house, all of which were friendly. We also very much enjoyed the french press coffee in the morning!
Laurel and Eric made our stay warm and welcoming. They gave us tips on fun things to do in Blacksburg and made us feel like their home was our home from the moment we walked in. Thank you for your hospitality xo
Laurel and Eric were very friendly and welcoming. Laurel’s messages before we arrived were very helpful. Their place was easy to find. It is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the freeway and downtown. They were both there to meet us, though Laurel soon left for work. Eric showed us around and gave thorough instructions (though their set up is very simple and easy). We really enjoyed his dinner suggestion and had a great time taking in the bluesy open mic at The Cellar afterwards. Eric and Laurel’s place is very clean and tidy and comfortable, the pets are cute and sweet, and coffee and yummy banana bread was provided in the morning. We were made to feel free to come and go as we pleased which was really nice. They are great hosts!
I was a little nervous to try Air BNB for the first time with Laurel and Eric, but they spoiled me for any other experience. Staying with them was incredible; I was arriving late at night, but they made sure that I was aware of the lock and door system beforehand. Laurel's cooking was amazing; I stayed with my friend for Valentine's Day weekend, and we would constantly eat the delicious home made banana bread or cupcakes Laurel frequently made. The room itself was perfect; Laurel and Eric provided everything. Towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wifi, everything. We had a couple inches of snow, and the heater in the room worked like a charm.
Sharing the bathrooms was never a problem. The pets were awesome! Lilly is adorable and even though I am allergic to cats there were no issues with the two cats. If you are coming to Blacksburg, stay with them! Their house is also really close to the bus stop, which helped making travel easier.
Laurel and Eric were great hosts. Laurel responded really quickly since I booked for the room the day of. They were really welcoming and friendly. The room was tidy and clean, I was provided with a complete variety of personal care amenities when I got there. I felt really comfortable during my stay. Laurel and Eric have awesome, cute pets at their home. Lilly the little dog was super friendly. It was a really great experience staying with them. Thank you Laurel and Eric.
We had a great stay with Laurel and Eric. They were friendly, generous and happy to share their home and about their experience living in Blacksburg. They were also accommodating when we changed our reservation. Laurel was quick to respond to messages and provided a tour of the house when we arrived. Coffee, tea and muffins were an added bonus :) This was my first airbnb experience and they made it a great one!
Had a great and comfortable stay at Laurel and Eric's home in Blacksburg. I stayed here during my exams and the hosts were gracious and accommodating. Enjoyed the banana bread that Laurel made on the day of my exam! Thanks Laurel! :) Also all their pets especially Lilly and Kaya are adorable. Overall had a great stay!
Laurel and Eric blew us out of the water! Being our first airbnb experience we had no idea what to expect. We were met in the late hours of the night by a smiling face, and greeted around every corner by little hints of a true warm welcoming. Their attention to detail in making us feel welcome and comfortable was truly heartwarming. They made us feel as if we were old friends visiting from far away, and that our stay was special to them. It was comfortable, affordable, safe. They truly opened their space to us and meant it when they said "make your self at home". I would recommend them to anyone! These guys are a class act!
Laurel's place was super clean, quiet and she offered coffee and breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth checking out.
Laurel was clean, tidy and friendly. My only regret is that she had to leave so early for checkout that I didn't get to say goodbye!
Very easy communicat
ion, a positive overall experience!
Eric and Laurel are just all around good people (and great guests). We enjoyed having them here.
What a great guest. Very friendly and cool. I had fun hosting. Thanks for running the Miami Marathon.
Laurel came with a friend, stayed overnight, and went on to run the New York Marathon in 4:05:10. She is completely awesome and an excellent guest (an excellent host too I believe). Always welcome.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Laurel and her boyfriend. It was a little busy and hectic around here but they blended right in and they were an absolute pleasure to have in our home. We would definitely have them back and would recommend them to any host. Five stars all around!
Great guest. Thanks for staying with us!
Laurel was a lot of fun to talk with and I enjoyed hosting her. She was friendly and clean and an ideal guest overall. Come back anytime!
Laurel was an excellent guest! Great communication, respectful and very friendly, very clean, she left the space in a great condition. I would love to host her again! And I would highly recommend Laurel to all Airbnb hosts!
Firstly I have to say that Laurel and her friend were excellent guests: all house rules were respected, they left the apartment clean and tidy. Secondly - they are great human beings. Lauren was going to run the NYC marathon which was cancelled at the lest moment due to mega storm Sandy. I can only imagine how disappointing it must have felt. But instead of being angry at this situation Lauren and her friend found themselves useful helping devastated families with the clean up. I've got so much respect for people like that! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lauren to anyone hosting.
I met Laurel as a colleague years ago and now am proud to call her my best friend!! Laurel's home is ideally located on a bus stop and within walking distance of a wonderful local food store, a larger chain grocery store, and one of the newest developments on South Main Street - the First & Main Shopping Center, which touts many great restaurants and shopping opportunities. I know that Laurel makes her AirBNB guests a priority and creates an environment in her home so that her guests feel very comfortable during their stay. Laurel is a gracious host who is very knowledgeable about Blacksburg and helps ensure that her guests can navigate the town so that they can enjoy our area to its fullest! If you choose to be a guest in Laurel's home, I can assure you that you will have a wonderful stay with an amazing host!!
I was going to stay at Laurels and cancelled the room at the last minute as the Hokies game time changed. She was really understanding and when we arrived in Blacksburg for the game she gave me, my husband and our son a guided tour of Blacksburg and bought us all a Hokies mug even though we werent staying with her. Her house is lovely and in a really good position for anyone visiting Blacksburg and the mountains.
