We had a good stay at what is certainly one of the most unique accommodations. We happened to stay here in what we guess was a particularly quiet evening. Our room was small and pretty simple but certainly adequate and well-equipped (hairdryer!). The main room is what makes this place so special with its gorgeous mosaic ceiling. Alice was very welcoming and her daughter played the harp at breakfast! Thanks, Alice!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alice's B&B! The accommodation was great (clean room & super comfortable bed!), breakfast was delicious, and the location was very central for where we wanted to go. We felt very welcome from the day we arrived, with many thanks to Alice, and her lovely volunteers!
A warm welcome from Alice into a delightful traditional Welsh chapel with a twist - the beautiful mosaic ceiling under which we played pool after visiting the local hostelry. Breakfast is served on the mezzanine and again was excellent and hospitable. Just a shame that it didn't stop raining but I'm sure the views are wonderful on a clear day.
We had a lovely stay at Pen y Coed Hall in mid-August. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and recommended a great walk, our room was comfortable, well-equipped and with great views across the valley. Breakfast was very generous with plenty of choice and our freshly good eggs were great.
Excellent accommodation. Alice couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
We stayed for 2 nights in a four poster room on our Wales road trip. The room was clean and had everything that we needed. The accomodation in an old church was absolutely unique. Breakfast was very delicious and a good basis for our hiking trip to Mount Snowdon. We enjoyed our short stay very much and felt like at home.
Very unique B&B. We'll never forget our forget our stay there. Nice village, great pub down the road, excellent location for climbing Snowdon!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful converted church. There atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and we were made to feel right at home. We enjoyed time in the communal area where there was plenty to entertain including a fabulous grand piano. The rooms were clean, comfortable and cosy and outside, we loved the views, the swing and especially the garden zip line. There is nothing negative to say about this accommodation, except that our stay wasn't long enough. We will definitely come back.
Had a wonderful few days staying with Alice and her family and helpers. Everyone was friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent and Alice was not phased by the late arrival of my teens to the breakfast table. A walkers dream... On getting back from walking in Snodonia, a place to put your boots and wet clothes. Then chill out in front of the fire with a coffee, and listen to people on the piano.
Alice was the perfect host, very helpful and informative. We stayed for two nights in a double room. It was clean and the bathroom was spacious.
It was a pleasure to welcome Alice, her partner and daughter as our second set of guests. They were very easy to deal with and would be welcome to return in the future.
It was lovely to meet Alice, Stephen and Hero, perfect guests, interesting, friendly and considerate.
Alice and their daughter were very gracious when they arrived and their room was not ready for them. Hopefully we put things right for them. Alice is also an Airbnb host and we always enjoy swapping hosting stories. Alice and her daughter would be very welcome to stay again.
We didn't actually get to meet Alice but the communication was great, her respect for the place was high and the room was left clean and tidy. Couldn't fault her and would be welcome back anytime!
Turned out to be a very brief meeting as Alice didn't arrive until late and tired (due to the rigors of horse eventing) and then had to leave very early the next morning without having time to chat over breakfast, and well before we got up! We just ended up providing a place to crash which was a pity as we really like to get to know guests a little and exchange a few experiences. Perhaps next time there is an event in our area?
Super guests. So full of beans. They came all the way from Snowdonia with a horse. Very impressed with Alice's daughter, so well spoken and friendly. Bless her. They were late in and early out. Loved having them. Come back soon.
I like guests like Alice and her daughter, low maintenance, clean, quiet and also good communication.
If they come back, I will happily give a discount.
I enjoyed hosting Alice and her daughter whilst she was visiting Manchester. It was actually a nice experience to host another Airbnb host and they were friendly and communicative - everything I expected.
They were away early the following morning so we didn't spend loads of time together but that's also one of the nice things about Airbnb: guest autonomy and people feeling comfortable to make themselves at home (and help themselves to an early breakfast.) I'd welcome them back.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful family :) I am so glad that I had a chance to meet them, host them. Alice and her children are friendly, easygoing, warm, kind, charming, cheerful people. I wish we stay friends for life. Good luck to you all and I hope to see you all again somewhere in the world :) Truly, deeply, highly recommended :)
