We love the outdoors, travelling and reading books by the fire. Airbnb has worked well for us - both renting our place in New Zealnd, and when we travel overseas.

Great place to stay, wish I could've stayed longer... Very east to deal with...
What a lovely Home ! Very warm And cosy!
We spent a wonderful time there.
We really recommend this place. You will find everything you need to enjoy your stay! (Even games, movies, And especially the music - with a great compilation just next to the radio)
Thanks for everything !
After the Milford Track, trek - this little cottage on the beautiful bay of Manapouri was perfect. About a 15 - 20 min drive from Te Anau, it's such a peaceful little place to stay and recuperate. The five of us walked in, chopped a bit of firewood, lit the fire, and collapsed into the beautiful beds.
We awoke to a beautiful bay in the morning before our journey back to Queenstown. Thanks, Christine, for the cute little cottage.
We had a great, but quick one night stay at this cottage. Rustic charm. Would have been great to cozy up by the fireplace but it was a hot summer night!
The house is located close to the starting point for the excursion to the Doubtful Sound, and in a very quiet neighborhood, this was positive.
Unfortunately, we had not a good stay. I was guided by positive comments of previous stays, and after our adverse first night experienced I read once more those comments and seems like I visited a different accommodation. From my experience there was low comfort and the house was dirty. As an example, in the bed of my son we found and old sock, so we were wondering if the bed sheets had really been changed before we go. Elements in the kitchen, such as a coffee jar were dirty. And the general perception was that the accommodation needs to be much cleaner.
On the comfort side, the house is an old one, which in itself is not at all a problem (on the contrary) but require a significant transformation to give a better rating, we didn't feel the comfort . We had booked two nights, but left in the second and went to a motel, were we came back to an acceptable level of comfort.
I believe this house can be an interesting accomodation for other visitors as long as the comfort and cleanliness are significantly enhanced.
A true home from home, perfectly equipped, and in a beautiful location. I would highly recommend Welcome Home Cottage for its charm and the way in which the owner made us feel welcome
The house was exactly what we were expecting from the listing. It was very cozy and the location was perfect for our Doubtful Sound outing. The kitchen had all of the things we needed to cook our meals and it was lovely to be able to sit on the patio and eat. The cottage was well stocked with books and movies including a very interesting dvd about life in the south part of the South Island. The neighborhood was quiet and neighbors were friendly.
Very cute cottage with everything you need! Quiet and very cosy.
Hi Christine and Martin,
We had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage. We spent one Night at the Doubtfulsound Overnight Cruise, and it felt like coming home on the next morning.
Thank you very much for this great "piece" of our NZ-Trip.

Overall I found the cottage a little too rustic for me. On the good side, the host communicated well, there is a nice sheltered picnic area with very nice landscaping, the bathrooms and kitchen were clean, so I did not mind eating there and would have been fine cooking there if we had been there longer. It was supplied with the necessities, except I couldn't find as many extra blankets as were described. It was also extremely convenient to the boat launch for Doubtful Sound and was on a quiet street. On the not so good side, I thought it needed more care in overall cleaning and maintenance. There were cobwebs in the corners, several dead bugs around and mouse traps under the couch. The house was drafty, though might be comfortable if you worked through the heating or built a fire, but we weren't really there long enough to do that. The upholstered furniture was very stained and I just never quite felt comfortable settling into the chairs. It was okay for a convenient one night stay, but I would not have enjoyed staying there longer.
Christine is a very pleasant guest.I recommended it!
