Staying here was wonderful! The guest house was clean and comfortable. Its in a great part of town, walking distance to some of the best restaurants in New Orleans and a short bike ride from, well, basically the whole city. Darleen and her family were wonderful hosts, as well. Would love to stay here again.
My kids and I had a wonderful stay! This was my first experience with airbnb and I was so pleased. Hosts were easy to communicate with and left us some delicious pastries when we checked in. Darleen was helpful with suggestions when I asked about a Swamp Tour. The location and accommodations were perfect for us. We could walk a few blocks to Magazine St. for dinner, ice cream, or shopping. I felt safe walking around the area at night with my young kids (my husband couldn't join us, so being somewhere I felt safe as a woman traveling alone with 4 kids was very important!). We had a great time in New Orleans and I highly recommend staying in the cute, cozy guest house whether traveling with kids or not!
My two sisters and I had a wonderful time staying in the little guest house. It's a lovely space and Darleen was a great host. We particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissants she left as a welcome gift! Everything worked as it was supposed to and the location is perfect for exploring New Orleans while being a bit removed from all the tourist trap stuff near the French Quarter.
We had such a great experience thanks to Darleen and her husband. The location is perfect with easy access to great places to eat, drink, and shop. Everything was clean and comfortable. We were even greeted with fresh pastries. We hope to stay again one day soon!
The room was exactly as posted. We had a great time and loved meeting Darleen and her family. A good place for kids, our son had a great time looking at their pond and playing with the frogs. Not too far from downtown and in a nice neighborhood, easy drive (even with construction) to French Quarter, Zoo, and close to the Trolleys on St. Charles. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit to the Big Easy!
Finding this little gem was a serious stroke of good luck! The site is exactly as promised - very clean, comfortable and beautiful. It's a three block walk to Magazine St where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. The #11 bus runs all the way downtown for only a $1.25. The room comes with a microwave and little fridge, but no cooking units. Patio is a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee - which you can make in the coffee pot she provides! I would absolutely recommend Darlene and her lovely cottage for your NOLA vacation. I will be back.
My stay at Darleen's was great. Clean, comfortable, and Darleen was a very accommodating host. We arrived up very late while traveling cross country and we were able to make arrangements to check in without disturbing them. She left us a some croissants for breakfast and gave us some recommendations for dinner. Would stay with her again next time I come back to New Orleans
The studio has a wonderful location off Magazine. Great walking, restaurants around, lovely neighborhood. Felt safe. Street parking. Wi-fi. The studio was private and the ac worked well to quickly cool the studio. It is basically everything you need. The best part is Darlene's quick response and availability. She is flexible and relaxed and makes the bookings easier. Highly responsive. It should be noted the bed is a pull out from the sofa. I slept on the futon one night, and it has a thin mattress. There was also a faint odor in the studio. Unsure source as the studio is clean and modern. It is quite lovely. Small kitchenette. Shower pressure works well, lots of lighting. Overall, great retreat for spending time in the Big Easy. Thank you Darlene!
A great location for exploring New Orleans. You will be near a whole host of restaurants, bars and coffee shops as well as the Magazine Street bus line. Darleen is very sweet and goes out of her way to make sure that your stay is comfortable. I very much appreciated the welcome croissants!
We loved our stay in New Orleans and the guest house was nice. Loved the courtyard kitties and the quick walk to Magazine Street. My only suggestion would be for some kind of hooks or hangers in the house for clothing. Thanks to Darleen for the yummy pastries that greeted us on our late arrival. All and all it was a great time!
Darleen's husband Michael was a pleasure to have around. He has so much love for San Francisco and it's guests like him that serves as a constant reminder of how lucky I am. He was very considerate, clean and super funny! I'd welcome him back any day!
We were pleased to have Darleen's husband as a guest in our little house. He was pleasant and prompt in communicating on check-in, check-out, and with questions about his stay. He left the place clean and tidy. Would welcome you guys back any time!
