I live in Mobile, Alabama.
Jarod was a great host and very easy to get ahold of (huge plus!)
We loved the condo. The only trouble we had is that we were one wristband short for the duration of our stay (but no one bothered us about it) and the toaster didn't work.
Otherwise we had a lovely stay. Thanks!
Love the condo! Love the proximity to public beach access! Didn't love the bugs in the condo so much but it's the beach and they are pretty much everywhere... Condo was a nice rental place. Pool was great! Supermarket was within 1 mile. Very hassle free experience!!! Thanks Jarrod
Nice house good situated, with access to pool and a short drive from different beaches an restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay and can definitely give our best recommendations.
First of all we received no information from the host about the rental until 24 hours before we left for our trip. The website said we would receive this info at least 2 weeks prior. We were disappointed because there was no toilet paper, handsoap, or washcloths. We had to go purchase these items. I don't think I am wrong about these items being provided when you stay at such a nice place. There were only childrens hangers and a few bent up wire hangers to use. The kitchen dishcloths were dirty and had food on them. The pool had black caterpillars in it and they were falling out of the trees on people. We were asked to wash the towels before we left but there was no laundry detergent. We paid a 75.00 cleaning fee so why were we asked to clean up before we left? I have rented a lot of places and never came across such bad experience. We will never rent a place on airbnb again. It was a terrible experience. Hopefully the host will understand this is the wrong way to rent a place when people have paid so much for a nice vacation. I would hate for anyone else to have the same experience we had.

Great location, away from the crowds. We loved the pool and the beach was wonderful.
Jarrod is a wonderful host. He was very flexible and helpful. The house is a slam dunk and I would definitely stay here again.
This place (and Jarrod) were awesome! Very clean with a modern feel to it. It was great to pick up some local freshly caught seafood to cook up in this full kitchen. Although if you go out, Jarrod had recommended Fisherman's Corner (underneath the bridge before Purple Parrot) it was amazing - with good price! We only ate out twice, and went there both times. Jarrod was very helpful and responded within a reasonable amount of time on all my questions. A prior review mentioned something about bugs/ants, but we did not encounter such problem. We really had no complaints and would definitely stay here again if we vacation to Pensacola. The pool had nice decor with music; it closed at 10:00 but if you weren't too loud, nobody will say anything to you as we were out until 11:00 one night sitting in outdoor hot tub. Highly recommend the place! If you have a 2 couples (as we did) price comes more comparable to a local hotel and you get so much more!
A perfect getaway in Perdido Key, Florida, next to Pensacola. We stayed 10 days in this two story cottage and loved it. The cottage is located on the gated Purple Parrot resort which offers both an indoor and outdoor pool area with bar. The bar offers live music. The resort is relatively small, but luckily for us this cottage was towards the back so that our two year old son could sleep quietly while the band continued playing throughout the evening at the bar. Despite being set towards the back, the walk from the cottage to the pool took maybe 30 seconds. Yes seconds. There is just one double row of cottages in between. Enough to break the sound.
The cottage has everything that you need. Both in the kitchen as well as from a living perspective. Two nicely outfitted queen sized quest rooms - each with an ensuite bath.
We spend a lot of time at the pool or the near by beach at Perdido Key State Park (a 247-acre barrier island near Pensacola on the Gulf of Mexico offering white sand beaches and rolling dunes). It was only a three minute car ride (you can't really walk towards the beach along the road, especially not with small children). $8 got us a week pass to the state park's beach.
We just returned from our beach vacation at Jarrod's condo and had a great time. The house is nicely decorated and has just about everything you need to enjoy your stay. The pool at the Purple Parrot is quite nice and the people are friendly. While the beach may be two blocks away, it's definitely not two walkable blocks -- you have to go down a very busy street and there are no sidewalks. However, drive two minutes down the road and you have access to a very nice stretch of beach with shade, bathrooms, etc. There's a nice grocery store about six miles away, and I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of organic products available.
Our only issue was that the condo had a bit of an ant problem, but I think if the cleaners do a better job and Jarrod has the unit sprayed for bugs regularly, that won't be a problem.
Pros: Community pool; modern house; comfortable beds; wifi; porches
Cons: Not within walking distance to beach; ants/bugs
