Hello everybody,I live in Athens. I studied architecture of interiors and design concept, I am a world traveller and I always prefer staying in places close to the local culture than in hotels..
Staying at Elena's house has been great!! The house is very comfortable, fully equipped, well located and with an amazing view! Furthermore Elena welcomed us since the beginning making us really feeling at home. I really recommed OIA - serenity and beauty and I am planning myself to come back soon!
Thank you Elena! Amazing stay at San Thira!
The view and the house were just perfect!
We stayed at Elena's house for 3 weeks. It was a magical trip, the view is fantastic. We enjoyed the pool and short walk into Oia for sunset and dining. It was the best vacation of our lives. And the wine was delicious!
Ideal host and house with an ideal view! Elena gave us really thoughtful recommendations for our short stay on Santorini - we followed her advice and loved it all. Weeks later, I am looking through photos and I still can't believe that was our view. Elena's place is really special - from the antiques to her homemade olives - and I would recommend a stay there in a heartbeat. Efharisto, Elena!
Our 6 nights at Elena's property were wonderful. The views are stunning. We travelled to most other towns of Santorini and agreed that Oia was the best place to stay. This part of Oia is lovely and quiet whilst still in walking distance to restaurants, shops and sunsets, and there's a handy supermarket a few steps away in Finikia.
The big outside courtyard and shade umbrella was the highlight of the property, together with the complex's swimming pool adjacent. We spent many evenings outside enjoying the view with food and wine, and days relaxing in the sunshine. If you're not seeking super-modern luxury interiors, then this is the perfect place to stay. Good airconditioning for those hot nights, and well equipped-kitchen was a real bonus. Genuinely great value considering the amazing location within the Ikies complex.
Elena is a great host and very helpful and kept in touch in case we needed anything.
We had a wonderful 11nights at Elena's beautiful property. Santorini island is breathtakingly beautiful, we travelled the whole island top to bottom and this property was still our favourite place! The big veranda is perfect for relaxing days in the sunshine, and the view is truly romantic. Highly recommended!
In one word, our stay was excellent. The house itself was well decorated with traditional taste. The location was great, just few mins walk to the town which gave us privacy. (no noise at all) Also, view from the balcony was breath-taking! We enjoyed a glass of wine every night at the balconyElena, the owner was kind enough to provide us cell phone to contact her in case of emergency or any questions. And she kept taking care of us during the stay. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely go back again!
Beautiful place, great host!
We cannot say enough good things about our stay at San Thira in Oia. The house was beautiful, and the location was amazing. From the huge terrace there is nothing between you and the clear blue waters of the Aegean sea but the jagged cliffs of the caldera. Simply amazing.
The kitchen of the cave house is fully equipped so if cooking for yourself is your thing, you won't be disappointed. And the view you get while eating dinner outside is as good as all of the luxury resorts nearby.
The location of the house is about a 15 min walk from Oia, so you're away from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship traffic, but close enough to get everything you need very easily. That also means that at night you look over at the lights of the city.
We had a chance to meet with Elena in Athens, where we stopped on our way over to the island. A short meeting turned into a full day of hanging out and talking about Athens, Greece, politics, architecture, and history. Elena is a wonderful host and a joy to be around and we definitely recommend meeting her in Athens if that is possible.
Santorini itself was charming and full of things to do and see. We rented a car and explored the rest of the island, but we can honestly say that nothing beat hanging out at San Thira.
If we ever get back to the island we won't hesitate to stay there again. And thanks for the wine Elena. A very nice touch.
