This a really lovely, clean and nice looking apartment. A perfect location for anything you want to do in NY. I never got to meet Alex, but he was always available online and his friend Adrian and his father Hector met me on arrival and greeted me when we left. I would recommend this place to anybody visiting New York.
We had a very pleasant stay at Alexanders apartment wich is really good located in Soho near Spring Street. The neighbourhood is calm and untroubled. There are several subway stations nearby to explore New York without annoying change.
The apartment is clean, exactly like on the pictures and had got everything we needed (incl. a hairdryer and an electric iron). We would come again - anytime!
This place is like an artists studio. The decor is beautiful and the living area relatively large for a one bedroom in lower manhattan.
Alexander and Hector are nice owners. The apartment is beautiful and the location is great.
The cleaning lady let us in, as she was still cleaning when we arrived. There were no instructions at all - just a wifi code and a number for "Hector" written on a piece of paper. I asked her about check out, and she didn't know, just said she would need to get the keys. There were no basic supplies. Not even a coffee pot. Since we were there for work, we needed items like an iron and a hair drier, so I called Hector, but got no response. Came to find out that Hector was not it town either, so there was no one local that we could contact in case of a problem. Luckily, the host had a friend bring them over at 9:30pm, which was much appreciated. Stuff was thrown into kitchen cupboards and plates utensils were dirty. That being said, the furniture was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. There is a very bright light across the street that shines right into the bedroom window, so bring an eye-mask. You might also want ear plugs because A) it is NYC but B) there is a barking dog next door and someone upstairs who must like wearing boots and pacing. A lot of the decorations in the photos are no longer in the apartment, it is pretty sparse. When it came time to check out, I triple checked the air b and b listing to see if there were instructions, but there were none. I texted the owner several times, then finally got ahold of Hector, who had no idea what I was talking about and didn't seem to know what to do with the keys either. He finally told me to leave to door unlocked and he would send someone over to get them. I have stayed in a lot of air b and b places and this was one of my least favorite. The communication and the amenities need to be improved for the price you pay.
Everything as described, inconvenience - no elevator ( 3 rd floor), nice location, clean apartment , thanks
We had a great experience in Alexander’s apartment. The apartment was clean, stylish and as advertised. It is snug and warm, which many apartments in NYC are not in the winter. The apartment is nicely designed to maximize the available space, and the bathroom and kitchen are recently and nicely redesigned with upgraded fixtures and appliances. The bed was very comfortable, and the sofa is also a very comfortable leather chesterfield type that can accommodate a 6 foot person. We were able to use the apartment as we had hoped – as a resource and a place to retreat to and regroup between outings in the city with friends and family. For breakfast, one can pop out and grab coffee and bagels within less than a block, and relax as you start the day. The apartment is conveniently located 2 blocks from the 1 local subway, and within a 10 minute walk of SoHo, NoHo, TriBeCa, West Village, Meatpacking District. If traveling with a young child, the Children’s Museum of Art across the street is a very handy resource. And being a few blocks from the Holland Tunnel is convenient if you are driving in from the West or South. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and is a walkup (no elevator). There is no TV, but WiFi and an iMac, which was great. And who needs a TV in NYC? We would happily go back and stay there again.
Spend a week during Xmas season. Victor, his father, was there to give us a key when we arrived at his place. Unfortunately we couldn't meet up with Alex, but he always there for us if we needed some help. Excellent location for the people who love jogging and easy access to soho area.
Great location. Apartment however is just adequate for relatively high cost.
Unfortunately, apartment building is run down with broken intercom ( when we were there), dirty carpets in building and overall not well kept.
The apartment was clean, quite small with somel amenities. The wall between bedroom and small living room has large aperture but no window or partition so sounds carry making for less than ideal stay with 3 people.
Bed and Sofa were very comfortable.
Computer and internet were great.
Alex is one of those wonderful, open, trusting people who opens his house to friends . He's well traveled, has a wide range of friends around the globe and embraces new people and their experiences. Alex is a seriously good guy. His apartment is in a nice block, in a great location. The bed I stayed on was comfortable, fast internet, good ac, low noise - clean bathroom. It was all round a great experience
His apartment was the first place where I stayed when I arrived to NY. We became friends with time. His place in ny is astonishing, the furniture its all antiques combined with the ny soho style... and the brick walls... I simply fell in love of that place when I entered there for the first time. Looks much better in person than in pics I must say. However, h was a great hst to me. He helped me to find all I needed in ny, gave me great tips of bars, restaurants and those ny hidden places that we are all looking for in the city. I felt at home and I gained a great friend. I highly recommend his listing in ny.
Alex is an incredible host and being a virgo, his place is always very neat and clean. His loft - apartment in NY is just at the perfect location and gets tons of light, the high quality designer furniture is handpicked by every attention to the detail and the setup is really relaxing and extremely quiet and cozy, i stayed there few nights and i would recommend it to anyone..
