I am a field ecologist and professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in Rio Claro, Brazil. I did my PhD in Cambridge University, UK. and was a Tinker Professor at Stanford. My main work has to do with tropical forest conservation, mainly the roles of birds and mammals in providing key ecosystem services. I have been working in the Atlantic forest, Pantanal, Amazon and Borneo.
I like soccer (Vai Corinthians!), basketball (Lakers) and running 10 k. I am married and have 2 kids.
