We had a good stay, the house is near the city center in a nice area. Silvia is very friendly and she invited us to see the boxe match with his family, very nice! The room and the sha red bathroom are very clean. We recommend it!
Sylvia is lovely and really helpful, the room is perfect and great value, in a great area of oaxaca. We had a great time.
The room is very comfortable and cozy with a good bed and a great fan. The shared bath is spacious with a large shower. Silvia is very welcoming and can answer all your questions and help you with a map. There are several local restaurants that serve good food and are inexpensive. We enjoyed El Biche Probre for breakfast on Republica and Playa del Carmen on Constitucion for their shrimp cockteles. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the main central attractions. Santa Domingo is a 10 minute walk.
The room was exactly as described. I was already familiar with the neighborhood (Jalatlaco) and recommend it. Cobblestone streets, friendly neighbors, quiet, several restaurant/sidewalk vendors within a 5 minute walk. Unbeatable location and short walk to town center/tourist district. Silvia and her son are nice hosts.
My host was home when I arrived and gave me a mini tour of my room and laundry room. I was given a map with points of interest and Silvia described the best way to get downtown from her house. She was helpful throughout with information on how to get to various locations in the city.
loved this home!!! Silvia is an easy, lovely and helpful host. the room I had has a simple but lovely sunny balcony. I spent a great 5 days exploring Oaxaca and Silvia's lovely neighbourhood.
I had a very good stay for 3 nights. Sylvia and her son are nice people.
Good access. 15 min walk to the zocalo. There are two bus terminals in Oaxaca. 10 min taxi drive to the closer bus terminal. 15 min taxi drive to the farther bus terminal. About 40 to 50 pesos.
The room clean and comfortable. Toilet and shower very clean. Hot water ok. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
Silvia will let you use the refrigerator.
I had a very nice stay.
Muchas gracias Silvia:)
Silvia was absolutely amazing! Despite our language barriers, she was extremely accommodating throughout our stay. Her home is in a safe and quiet neighborhood, just a short walk from the Santo Domingo church and the rest of Oaxaca City. It was a perfect launching pad for a Oaxacan adventure.
Thank you again, Silvia, we loved staying with you!
Silvia is a super sweet lady who accommodated our very late arrival. She had a lovely colonial house with a very nice private room. The bathroom was down a short hallway that you might have to share with other guests if they are there which we luckily didn't have to do. It was a bit difficult to converse as we speak very little Spanish and she didn't speak English but her son spoke English and was very helpful in translating. They even let us hang out until our 7 o'clock at night bus. It's a bit tiring to walk into town to the zocalo every day but I highly suggest this place as it was very clean, spacious and the hosts were delightful.
This is a very nice room with a private bath, a porch with an eating area, and a rooftop patio. Silvia met me at the door when I arrived and even though I don't speak Spanish we were able to get everything arranged with no problem. I booked this place the night before and she was very gracious and willing to work with me on short notice. It's a pretty straight shot from here to the walking streets that lead to the Zocalo and the historic section of town.
