Appartamento centro storico a Pienza nel cuore della Valdorcia!
Appartamento spazioso arredato con molto gusto, anche nella scelta della biancheria . Vicino a bar e locali. Ottimo
Once we found where we were staying which took a lot of questions and guess work and got through the language barrier with Lorena, got our car parked at her residence and walked back to the apartment we had an amazing stay in the walled city. The apartment was well equipped with everything and was very cosy. We would recommend anyone staying here.
Response from Lorena:
Thank you!!! i hope for another time!!! lorena e fam.
My wife, mom and I enjoyed two magical nights in this beautiful apartment.
It's well equipped, very clean, smartly decorated and you can't beat the location. I repeat, you can't beat the location.
We fell in love with Pienza! The views driving into town were unbelievably picturesque - sunflower fields, vineyards, chateaus, rolling hills...beauty everywhere.
Checking in was a little challenging, because I don't speak Italian, and Lorena doesn't speak English. Monica, Lorena's relative, communicated with me before arrival, and provided much needed translation through mobile phone, once I arrived to apartment. Lorena is very sweet, and it was fun practicing my Spanish and using hand gestures to try to communicate with her. We had many laughs trying to speak foreign languages to each other. "Mi dispiace," was one common expression we shared.
The apartment is absolutely lovely; the pictures do not do justice to the beauty and detail found in all corners of the space (including the ceilings in the closet)! The apartment is located above the entrance to a wonderful plaza in the most perfect neighborhood. There are adorable shops, great restaurants, cafes, gelaterias all just steps away. All the shop owners and employees made us feel welcome, but our favorite place to visit was "La Taverna del Pecorino." Pienza is known for their pecorino and the shop owners at La Taverna treated us like old friends. They were like grandparents to my daughters, teaching them about the cheese and tartufo (truffle oil), and giving us cheese tastings nearly every day. We purchased cheese and wine each day to take back to the apartment for our aperitifs and evening snacks. There were many tourists in the plaza, but it also seemed to be the place locals gathered to have lunch and dinner with family and friends. Late night strolls, laughter in the street, and children on scooters were common. Everyone appeared to enjoy life and company, and didn't rush to go home.
The views from the plaza are breathtaking. I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay in Pienza. I was very sad to leave, so I hope to return one day.
Lorena, thank you for providing the perfect home for my daughters, husband and me. Ciao!
