While the photos are beautiful, in person NOLA'S Lil Arc is much more splendid. The musical instruments turned light fixtures are works of art. Belinda met me in person, on-time, at check-in and check-out. She is gracious, friendly, and very helpful. I very much recommend staying at either this space or the adjacent space during a stay in New Orleans.
We had a great stay at NOLA's ARC. The unit was spacious with great amenities, cool air conditioning, restaurant recommendations and of course most of all a welcoming and friendly host! We've done slot of travelling and considered this amongst the top highlights. An advantage was being a bit outside of the action spots so quiet. There is even a "local" one block away that contributes to the feeling of community. All the details were attended to and that was very much appreciated!
We had a lovely stay at Lil Arc! Belinda thought of everything, including a well stocked kitchen, an umbrella, ponchos, and bikes to ride. The house was very well decorated. The neighborhood is in walking distance to the French Quarter and felt safe to us.
This charming bungalow was easily my favorite Airbnb spot - perfect walk to the French Quarter. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
What an amazing Airbnb experience. Belinda is a wonderful and accommodating hostess. We could not get over the amazing decor inside and out and you can tell Belinda takes extraordinary care of the property. The home is in a very convenient location but like many city neighborhoods at night just use caution. I would not hesitate to stay here again and have already recommended it to friends and family!
Belinda is such a nice person. Actually we had some miscommunication at the day we checked in. Belinda waited for me almost 1 hour. I felt so bad but she just kept saying thats ok. The entire home is new, clean. The kitchen is new though we didn't use it. The room is cozy and the bed is super comfy. We had our great last night in NOLA. And I must mention her two cute dogs. Cutest ever!
What a wonderful vacation experience!! We absolutely loved staying in Nola's Arc. Belinda is a wonderful host and thought of everything we could need. There was coffee, tea, beers and soft drinks waiting for us. There were snacks in the cupboards and all the toiletry items one could want. The house is a perfect size for a couple. This home has a beautiful bathroom, a large closet, a comfortable bed, interesting historic elements and a great outside deck. We had a fabulous time walking around the city. Although we were a bit nervous about the location at first, we loved being so close to the French Quarter and the Bywater area... We were very pleased with the location!!
Belinda made sure we were able to get the Arc easily, recommending her favorite taxi driver Carol, who was lovely and a bit of a riot (in a good way!) Belinda even drove us to the local supermarket on arrival as it was late and we were short on supplies. Over and above!
Belinda was an excellent host and it was so lovely staying at NOLA'S ARC. The house is the perfect size for two people and has anything you may possibly need. Belinda provides towels and bedding, and even things like drinks, snacks, and cooking supplies. Also, there are electric outlets all around, which is really convenient! Both the interior and exterior are decorated so nicely. There is a little back patio with cute kumquat trees and comfy seats, as well as a porch area in between the ARC and Lil ARC that is covered overhead with lights too. There is a secure gate that locks so you will feel safe when you are home.
Everything is clearly labeled, and Belinda provides you with two binders filled with suggestions on what to do, a walking tour, and suggested restaurants with menus.
I would highly recommend staying with Belinda. You will feel both at home and on vacation at the same time, and the French Quarter and other neighborhoods are easily accessible as well.
I love Nola's Lil Arc and it is one of the sweetest places I have ever stayed, but I do have one caveat for prospective renters. First, Belinda is a wonderful, welcoming host. The cottage itself could not be more charming. Every detail is sweet (I love the musical instrument lighting fixtures and art), the kitchen is well equipped, and she has left many recommendations, tips, maps, guides and other helpful things for visitors. My only warning is that the location is geographically good (close to French Quarter, Treme, Bywater, Marigny) but in an area which makes it desolate at night or in the rain. You can count on Carol, the truly great cab driver, to get you around, but other cab drivers might have a problem finding the place. I don't recommend a night arrival like I did. You need to have your bearings before you wander out. The crime rate is widely noted , so this is not a paranoid personal fear. Signs everywhere say not to walk alone. With that in mind, pack some food and booze for the kitchen if you need to stay in (or grab something for your first night if you have a late arrival) - it's a happy experience. During the day, you are very well located to see everything and the location makes more sense. Overall, I loved the cottage, Belinda, Carol, the dogs and of course New Orleans (!) but could see that some folks would have trouble with the location. I live in a San Francisco neighborhood that also has its blocks that you know to avoid at late hours, but New Orleans is much more of a night town. Just be forewarned and have a fabulous time.
These apartments and studio are newly fitted, stylish and impeccably kept. Linen, towels, cutlery, crockery, furniture are all top quality and Belinda generously stocks the rooms with fresh supplies and condiments. I stayed in the studio and had absolutely everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is fantastic. True New Orleans; full of character, short riding distance to attractions, yet quiet with community feeling. The dogs are clean, mellow, well behaved (didn't hear them bark once) and cute and stick with Belinda and out of your way unless you want to pay them attention. Incredible large back yard with hammock and outdoor table, lush lawn. I honestly couldn't imagine a better area to stay and better value for money. Additionally, Belinda is full of local insight, and one of the nicest, witty, talented people one could meet.
The location of this place is outstanding! I stayed here while my house was being remodeled for about 3 months. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. I still park there when I am going into the French Quarter, best kept secret. The place I rented was impeccable and with top notch fixtures.
Belinda was an awesome landlord and her dogs are very nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place!!
ps- great location for walking around and riding your bike throughout the city. Blocks away from the French Quarter, nearby city park, just can't beat it.
Ohh and I had a hard time convincing my dog to come home after staying there, he loved Belinda and the place!
I stayed at Belinda's house November. Her home is immaculate, with modern facilities in a lovely period house. Highly recommended, about ten minutes or so walking distance to the French quarter. Belinda is helpful and friendly. It was a lovely experience, and her dogs are adorable and not noisy. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. New Orleans is so wonderful. Belinda is a jazz musician and knows all the best places to go. I felt quite safe walking around Treme, the locals are very friendly.
