Originally from the UK, I've lived in Amsterdam for almost 10 years together with my boyfriend. I work as a magazine editor. Outside of work I enjoy Amsterdam to the full - restaurants, bars, museums, architecture, bike rides... and enjoy sharing my latest discoveries with people. But I also love the countryside and don't think there's anything better than heading off by bike to discover the many beautiful old villages just above Amsterdam.
We're extremely environmentally concious and our house it pretty much carbon neutral due to the solar heating, solar electricity and offsetting our gas usage. We seperate all of our rubbish and compost any food waste. And we also try and grow a lot of our own vegetables (with mixed success - but you have to start somewhere!).
After living in the bustling city centre for a few years, we chose to live in Amsterdam Noord because it's extremely peaceful, but provides convenient access to the centre (where you can regularly find us) and to the beautiful countryside just above Amsterdam. In our home, everyone is welcome.
