I enjoy meeting new people and traveling. My other passions include being active in the outdoors and being around animals.
I have been a rock climber for 24 years and also enjoy hiking and doing yoga. Since completing graduate school at Western Carolina University, I have worked in mental health and substance abuse counseling. I use to be a teacher and my husband is continuing in this field as a Language Arts teacher at an alternative high school. Chris has a mountain bike guiding company called Pisgah Mountain Bike Adventures and spends much of his time on his bike, but he also enjoys rock climbing.
We traveled to Thailand and Australia for the summer of 2008 and have visited in much of the US; living in both Colorado and California. I have also traveled in Nepal, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Bahamas. At Christmas in 2013, we joined my family for a cruise to the Western Carribean(thanks mom and dad). Chris and I enjoyed caving in Beliez and snorkling in Honduras. We can't wait to do more traveling! I hope to visit the Pacific Northwest for some climbing and Chris wants to go mountain biking in Sedona, AZ.
We are interested in hosting on Airbnb because we have more house than we need and we feel that our place will give visitors a good taste of the feel of the Asheville area. This is because we live at the base of a mountain; have wildlife such as bears and hawks as regular visitors; are close to many trails; and have a wood-burning stove, an outdoor fire-pit, and an outdoor hot tub.
We are happy to share information about the many local restaurants and breweries, as well as, our favorite local hiking/biking trails.
