We tidied up the place, but since we paid a $50 cleaning fee, we assumed we did not need to do dishes, take out the trash, make the beds, etc., as this has been the case at other places I have stayed. We had no instructions to clean and did not know what to do with our dirty towels and trash etc.
The house is a duplex and you can pretty much hear everything on the other side. We were playing the record player that was provided and when we received a text about the neighbor, we immediately turned off the music. We also were playing cards with the deck that was provided in the house and needed to move chairs and remove the plant from the table in order to play. We forgot to return the chairs and plant back to their original places and I had no idea this would be an issue.
My friend dropped her glass of water when she saw a huge roach in the kitchen. I planned on emailing about the glass and the roach issue along with other issues as soon as I returned home from my travels, however Sarah immediately texted me after our departure upset about the glass and moved furniture.
The windows were open upon our arrival so we thought it was fine to leave them open when we departed.
I think Sarah should provide instructions to her guests detailing what she would like cleaned (along with a clarification for the cleaning fee), and also include rules about not using the items in the house.
