I have traveled the word staying in Airbnb accommodations and have always had a wonderful report with the hosts, who have been kind, communicative and accommodating. This was not the case with the host Cycle and Wine. I have been in the hospitality business for 25 years and would never have treated a guest like I was treated by Cycle & Wine. It's ludicrous to think that asking your host to remove the screws out of the bedroom windows that were screwed wide open over looking the freeway that you can see from the apt, is an unreasonable request. He's based in NY and didn't believe me and said that all the windows had been fixed in the apt and insisted I send a picture of the screwed open bedroom windows. He didn't send a handyman for 3 days even when I was texting to see when they could be fixed-- so sleep was out of the question because of the freeway noise!!!! And there was never an apology for this even though I said my partner had to leave on night 2 to stay in a hotel to get some sleep.
I was in town for work and chose this apt carefully bc I needed a kitchen to be able to cook my meals over my 19 day stay. I knew the kitchen was modest, but I asked before arriving if there was a coffee grinder, which I was assured there was. There was not when I arrived and the grinder wasn't delivered to the apt for a couple of days. And then when I wanted to cook something in the oven I asked the host if I could borrow a baking sheet pan from his restaurant downstairs and he said no, and told me to go buy a sheet pan if I wanted to use the oven. When I asked about TP, paper towels, and extra garbage bags, he said that I had to supply my own because I was ling term guest. Very disappointing that this wasn't communicated ahead of time...I would have had better service at Economy Lodge down the street for the 1/2 the price. I spent almost $1700 for place where I was criticised for asking for some basic amenities like windows in the bedroom that shut and open, some paper supplies and 1 sheet pan to use the oven. Did appreciate him allowing me to check out 2 hours late, but also criticised me for asking. I would never stay with this host again. But if you need a place to crash in Santa Rosa for a couple of nights and don't care about the next door freeway noise and dust coming through the apt, then this should be a suitable choice. But I would never recommend this place for a long term stay for this host needs a reality check and a course in basic communication and hospitality.
