The house was even nicer than expected. We had a great time and really enjoyed the neighborhood. Short walk to all the restaurants on Magazine and not far from the streetcar on St. Charles. The kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil you would need to do any sort of cooking. Definitely going to stay here again next time I'm in New Orleans.
Lee's place was perfect for our stay in New Orleans. It was just as described. The house was beautifully updated and very cozy with lots of local art. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed getting to know the neighborhood. It was fun to be able to walk to local shops, bars and restaurants. Lee communicated readily through texts as needed, although there really wasn't much need as everything was fine.
Lee's cottage provided a fabulous home for our visit to New Orleans. Great location, just a short walk to Magazine Street and its fantastic restaurants and shops. The cottage, on a quiet street, had everything we could want. The home was neat, clean and just "as advertised" in the pictures. Lee was a great communicator. Staying here and walking up to our temporarily "own" front door helped to make our stay one of the best of many visits to New Orleans.
Lee's shotgun allowed me both convenience and privacy during the 2014 NBA All-star weekend/Kickoff of Mardi Gras/Valentine's Day weekend festivities. I was very impressed with the eclectic vibe of the neighborhood and the friendly, carefree demeanor of Lee's neighbors.
Lee's shotgun is absolutely stunning and handsomely designed. Bottomline, this is THE LOCATION to be if you want to enjoy the non-tourist side of New Orleans.
What a nice place in such a great location! My wife and I had grown tired of the smelly craziness of the Quarter and wanted to see a more laid back part of town that was still very New Orleans-ish, and the Garden District did not disappoint. Lee was an awesome communicator, had everything prepared for our arrival and took great care of us, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time there. The house and neighborhood were both clean and quiet, just a short walk to Magazine Street and all those cool shops and restaurants in the area. Four big thumbs up for Lee and his house!
For my first time renting through Airbnb, I couldn't have asked for a nicer home, or better host! Lee was great with communicating everything needed prior to our stay, and was always quick to respond with any questions I needed to ask before we arrived as well as while we were there. I would most certainly rent from Lee again when we come back to New Orleans!
As for the house...amazing! It was the perfect spot for my wife and I, as we typically stay in the Quarter during visits to Nola but wanted to stay in an actual neighborhood/less touristy part of town this time around. The house is beautifully appointed with local artwork, and has been nicely updated with modern amenities while retaining it's classic charm. Lee has also gone out of his way to keep the house well stocked with toiletries, extra sheets, towels, you name it...just in case you need extras or forgot to bring something of your own. I can honestly say that I was more comfortable at Lee's house than any other vacation rental I've had (have rented ~7-8 other homes via (website hidden)/(website hidden) in the past), and you can definitely tell that a lot of effort has gone into making it stand out.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay, and we can't thank Lee enough for his hospitality. We would most certainly stay here again!
If this house was on the market, we'd seriously consider buying it. Our stay was nothing short of excellent; it was spick-and-span clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and dishes and other such things, and the location can't be beat. We felt safe walking up to Magazine Street, and the neighbors were delightful.
Very, very highly recommended.
Had a great stay in this Irish Channel shotgun. The property was comfortable, well represented in the photos and well situated a short walk to Magazine St. The property also sits 3 blocks from Tchoupitoulas Street, with the NOLA Brewery and Tap Room on the corner, and additional bus access to Canal Street, the Warehouse Arts District and Uptown. Parking was readily available on the street. I would not hesitate to stay again the next time I visit New Orleans.
Lee's place is far better than a hotel. It has everything you need. It's charming and beautiful, well decorated with very cool local art pieces. The place is part of the historic district, all that makes you really get the feeling of being in Nola. The location is very convenient - it is not in the touristy area so it's very quiet but it is also very close to Magazine St. for nice restaurants and stores. Also, if you walk a little bit more you can get the street cable car at St. Charles Ave. and go to Canal St. and the French Quarter. My husband and I just loved it and we would highly recommend! Thank you very much Lee!
Lee's place was great! Immaculately kept, with every possible amenity in a great, quiet neighbourhood tucked away from the touristy dreck, but still very convenient to whatever you would want to do. The back yard is a perfect place for morning coffee and nearby Magazine Street provides a perfect, neighbourhoody stroll with great restaurants, cafes and shops. Try Coquette -- brunch was delicious. Thanks, Lee!
I have met Lee years ago! We were traveling in Morocco. He is a really nice person and his apartment has been fully renovatedrecently. I am sure you are having a great time in New Orleans.
Lee is a great guy with a deep knowledge of New Orleans, from the funky to the grandeur. He has made a tremendous renovation of his duplex and you would be luck to rent it in one of the best parts of the city. It's close to Magazine street, which has it all; from great restaurants and bars, to funky thrift shops and music.
