I am a crazy animal lover and bought the cabin 10 years ago so I could vacation with my pups. Now I want to share this great place with others.
This was our first time ever in AirBnB and what an experience! This is a great place close to every place we wanted to go. My kids (5 and 3) were comfortable. I recommend this place to anybody - family oriented or sky oriented. The place is walking distance to Bear Mountain...
We will return to this place for any future Big Bear experience...
This place was even better than I expected. Host was very accommodating and the location is great, can't ask for more.
This place was great. Not only is the cabin walking distance from the ski resort, and a short drive from Big Bear village, it's also placed at a spot where you don't have to worry about noisy crowds or heavy traffic. It's the perfect combination of convenience and privacy. Loved it!
We love sharing our cabin and glad you had a great time.
Chasing Dreams Cabin was perfect for us! It's much more comfortable to have a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer, when you're travelling with minis and a fur baby! HIGHLY Recommended!
The door is coded and provides easy access, both the bedroom upstairs and living room downstairs have cable, the wifi ID and pw is on the transmitter. The hot water is HOT! :) There is a shower and a bathtub. And the kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware you could want. All rooms are fully stocked with extra blankets. The heater works great, but there's also a wood stove in case you prefer that for heat; you will have to buy your own wood. NOTE - the entry way is hard surface, but the rest of the cabin is carpeted. This is good to know so you can plan on taking off your snow boots and gear in the entryway, this will prevent wet carpet and wet socks when you're walking around later.
For the fur baby in your life - bring their bed and blankie, bags for walks, tinkle pads and food/treats. There are water and food bowls for their use. Our little one was very confused with the snow, but she adapted well, pottied outside each time and then ran back in to the warmth of the cabin! She is not a fan of the snow! I say bring tinkle pads because if you're gone for most of the day, you don't want any accidents in the house! :)
Kate was very informative and made certain to tell us that we would need chains. Be advised, if you're going during the winter, bring chains if you do not have snow tires. The main road is plowed regularly, however the side residential roads just down from the resort do NOT get plowed and can be snowy and icy! We needed chains to get onto the road.
Traffic on the street is minimal. Our minis went sledding down our street. Yes, there was that much snow and no traffic! And there's lots to do in the surrounding area. The days following we went snow boarding at Bear Mountain, skiing at Snow Valley, and tubing and luging at Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain. We also had some fun downtime having dinner and going for a walk in the Village and played at the FunPlex.
There are a ton of choices for eating out in the area, just be sure to plan ahead as the better places are crowded! But if you like to cook and have a warm meal waiting at home, there's an automatic crockpot that switches to 'warm' after the cooking phase is over. We had several meals waiting for us at home after a day in the snow! Also, for planning purposes, it seemed to us that the Stater Bros lot was less crazy than the Vons lot. Both are just a short drive from the cabin, as is the local Walgreens.
I am so happy it worked out and you all had a great time. The summer is just as much fun and we would love to have you back anytime.
Not only was the cabin spacious and beautiful, but the area was simply breath taking. In a street where the hills were powdered with snow was perfect for my family to slide in a sleigh. We all had a great trip and loved the cabin!
I am so glad you had a great time.
This was our second time staying at the cabin and we had another great experience. The house was very cozy and comfortable. We will be back again!
We love repeat guests.
The cabin was awesome, exactly as described. Thank you Kate for the bagels and cream cheese, just what we needed. The house was bigger than I thought, it was perfect for our family of four plus two dogs. Fully fenced yard was a bit steep for us, but dogs had no problems with it. Perfect location to the slopes and shops. It was nice being able to walk when others were messing with their cars!
Jackie- thanks for the feedback. We will get the coffee maker situation solved. There had been a break between guests so my manager probably over did the room freshener and I will let her know.
The host canceled this reservation 29 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Kate responded to us immediately. She is a very pleasant and great host.
The house is amazing - even better than described. Exactly what we were looking for. Very cozy, clean and has all the necessities. It has an amazing deck for your morning coffee or BBQing. Will definitely come back. Thank you, Kate!
Kate is very helpful and friendly.
The house is even better than the pictures. The outside deck is fantastic. I spent hours every morning feeding the birds and chipmunks. The entire home has a great woodsy, mountain feel I found so relaxing.
The neighborhood is great. Not crowded. Just high enough to be in the woods and a very short drive to the lake and stores.
It would be great in the winter, but I found this to be the perfect place to spend the summer. Wonderful, cool temperatures every day.
I love this place!
Kate was a lovely guest. She was appreciative of the room and the garden, and clear in her communication when she had a question. She was responsible and tidy and very sweet to talk to - we welcome her back anytime.
Very easy. Good communicator and flexible.
Kate put up a writer she works with for a month at my space, and he was a great guest. My apartment was left in great shape, and they were both very easy to communicate with. I recommend renting to Kate. She and her visiting guests are welcome back anytime.
Kate booked our space for a Los Angeles time writer who needed a space for the month. James was great. Very laid back and neat. Kate was very easy to get in touch with. Once James arrived he made the place his own. Great guest.
The cabin was great, clean and very close to ski resorts. It was very comfortable, we loved it.
I have know Kate for over 10 years. She is a smart, caring, friendly and sweet person. She is the type that would show up to help in a moments notice. The devotion she has given to rescuing, fostering and training dogs is inspirational. Plus, Kate makes the most awesome homemade chicken feet treats for dogs.
