Pat responded quickly and got in contact with check in info long before we arrived. Check in and out was very simple. The house was in a perfect location for exploring Cork and Blarney has enough amenities a two minute walk away. The house was exactly as advertised and the kitchen was phenomenal (especially as we were there over Christmas and were cooking large meals). The living room was inviting and the beds were very comfortable. We had a great time and would absolutely stay at Pat's place again!
We enjoyed our stay at the house, it had all the amenities we needed and was very clean and tidy! It was a great home base for exploring Southern Ireland!
My family and I (my parents and my brother) stayed at Pat's house in Blarney for a week in July, 2014 following a trip to Liverpool the week before. Such a great location, I can't really stress that enough. While we mainly kicked back and enjoyed Blarney, taking just a day trip to Cork and Kinsale (both very close), the house is centrally located so that it could be the starting point for anyone wanting to venture further out into the country than we did. Blarney Castle was on the top of our "to-do" list, since my Grandfather had also kissed the Blarney Stone before he passed away, so it was really important to my Dad. Having that incredible view of the castle from the dining table everyday was really something special. The spacious house was clean and well equipped with towels, cooking utensils and dishes that we did make use of for breakfast and a couple of nights for dinner. Blarney had everything we needed being a major tourist stop (as evidenced by the parade of buses). All the major sites, restaurants, pubs, grocery store, and tourist info is within walking distance. The Woolen Mills store was very nice, and is a one-stop-shop for any souvenir from Ireland you can think of, be it cliche or more meaningful. Christy's Restaurant and Pub, also located at the Woolen Mills, serves an amazing fish chowder, and the Muskerry Arms a short walk away has Harp on tap (one of my favorite beers). Our GPS lead us astray when first arriving, but I had used Street View on Google beforehand to familiarize myself with the area just in case and was able to quickly find my way. We all had a great and relaxing time, and are very thankful for the great house that Pat provided! Highly recommended!
Thanks so much for your kind remarks. I get a great kick out of people enjoying their stay.
Pat's house is in a great location, within easy walking distance to Blarney Castle, shops, cafes, and groceries, and just a short drive from other locations like Cork city, Kinsale, and Midleton. It has a great view of the Castle as a bonus. The house is very clean and spacious and easily accommodates a large group of people. Pat was a perfect host, lots of information about the house and the area available in the house and quick to respond to questions. Thanks for a great stay Pat!
The location of Pat's place was marvelous - close enough to walk to pretty much everything in Blarney. It was also an easy jaunt into Cork to take a day trip out to Dingle and Slea Head (highly recommended!). The view from the house was a nice treat - spending the evenings looking out over Blarney Castle.
The home itself was lovely and clean, aside from some mustiness in the master bedroom. The house was well-stocked for cooking and all of our needs - we felt welcome and accommodated. Pat left great instructions and loads of information for activities in and around Blarney/Cork, which was very helpful.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Thanks for the feedback and comments and will take all comments on board. I'm always looking to improve every aspect of the guests experience.
This house is really lovely - loads of space. Blarney is a cute little town with everything you need and Cork, a bigger city, is about 10 minutes away by car, so the location of the house is nice too. The only thing was that there isn't wi-fi at the house... we had to go to cafes in town or use the 3G on my unlocked iPhone. Other than that, this was a really great place to stay.
We were positively thrilled to stay in Pat's home. It was extremely comfortable, clean and had a lovely view and great local restaurants. There was some food and condiments that he allowed us to use as well. We would come back anytime!!!
My family and me (5 Adults and two childs) spend 4 days in april 2014 at Pat´s House. A great place, thank you Pat! We liked very much the big kitchen and the dining room, all looks very pleasant, convenient and tidy. We enjoyed also your cd-collection!
My best compliments for this accomondation!
I stayed at Pat's house in Blarney for a week with my family of 5 adults and a 2-year-old. The house has great views overlooking the town of Blarney and is within walking distance to everything. The house was a perfect fit for us as it was a great location - Cork City is just minutes away by car and we did day trips to Killarney, Dingle and Kinsale. This house was great! I would highly recommend anyone and everyone looking for a place in Cork to stay at Pat's beautiful home. Thanks Pat.
Just a lovely house that was perfect for our needs. It was extremely clean and tidy, and well stocked. The small village of Blarney had a few really nice places to eat, and we heard traditional Irish music every night in the local pub. The bus in to Cork is very handy and takes about 15 minutes into the city centre so you can leave the car and not worry about parking. The photo's on the site are very accurate, we did have trouble with our GPS accepting the address but Pat was great to help us on the phone. We can highly recommend this very lovely listing.
Pat was a very sweet guest. Easy to communicate with, and it was very tidy after he left. We can easily recommend him as a guest. Ocktober 2014
