Marika was a very nice guest and she really took care of the apartment.
Lovely couple. We would have welcomed the opportunity to get to know them. We highly recommend them as guests.
Marika and Magnus were great guests. They were fun, friendly and we truly enjoyed sharing our home with them. Marika was attending a conference, or something like that, here on the Big Island where she defended her thesis (as is customary after receiving a PhD) in front of her peers. Her PhD is in neuropsychology and the subject of her thesis is on cognitive abilities after a brain injury. Marika and Magnus decided to get married early since they were already in beautiful Hawaii. We didn’t learn that they were on their honeymoon until after they arrived. Someone suggested that they exchange their vows in Waipi’o Valley (they were staying near Waipi’o Valley at the time) but they decided to get married on a nearby beach instead. Those present at the wedding were Marika, Magnus, the minister, a click-happy photographer and their witness; a large sea turtle that was hanging out on the beach. Even sea turtles know that life is always better on the beach. They also enjoyed Kehena Beach, a local black sand beach where Spinner Dolphins often come to play. They traveled the Hamakua Coast north of Hilo to see the waterfalls and check out the 4-mile scenic drive off Onomea Bay. They were headed for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park after they checked out of our house and after that, they went to Captain Cook just south of Kona where they would be spending their last night on the Big Island in Hawaii. We were very happy that they enjoyed the fruit plates and salami/cheese plates that we put out for breakfast. We very much enjoyed hosting Marika and Magnus and would be happy to host them again the next time they find themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We would also recommend Marika and Magnus to other hosts. Thank you, Marika and Magnus.
Marika and her new husband decided to stay only one night at the hostel so I did not get the privilege of meeting them. They communicated way in advance, they left their room and the hostel in tip top shape and are always welcome to stay with us.
