I grew up in the suburbs of New York, but was happiest when visiting my grandparents on their farm in Maine. After finishing college in New York City, I attended the University of Maine Law School in Portland. I graduated in 1977 and have been practicing law in Portland ever since. I bought my house on Munjoy Hill in 1984, and quickly realized that I was exactly where I wanted to be-- on top of a hill in an urban neighborhood looking out on Portland’s busy working harbor, and beyond the harbor to Casco Bay. I have lived here ever since. My two children—now in their 20s— were born and raised here. My office, in Portland’s Old Port, is a 15-minute walk away. Weather permitting, I walk or ride my bike to work, always mindful of how lucky I am not to be sitting in traffic.
Six months out of the year, I spend my free time tending to my flower garden, which surrounds a small circular terrace with outdoor table and chairs. In the winter, I’m at my sewing machine, making quilts and clothes.
I share my home with a handsome and friendly ginger cat, Rudy.
I look forward to hosting you!
