I am a college professor and distance runner who travels to relax, continue my education, and experience some of the greatest trail running our beautiful country has to offer. My husband and I are in the process of "farming" our yard, and are very interested in finding farmstay experiences to learn more about sustainable agriculture (and ways to adapt large-scale techniques to suit our "urban farm"). I checked a major life experience off of my "bucket list" when I milked a goat earlier this year (hence, the profile picture)! I will soon be learning to make cheese and am in the process of building my first chicken coop (we will be housing our first flock of layers this spring!). As we seek more farmstay opportunities across the country to expand our farming knowledge, we welcome input from our hosts! On the running front, I am in the process of completing a marathon in every state (only 44 to go!), and am hoping to continue to find unique races to really experience the beauty and character of the towns I visit. As travelers, my husband and I are generally early-to-bed, early-to-rise folks who enjoy a quiet atmosphere. We prefer to support local business and to eat locally-produced foods, so we welcome recommendations from our hosts!
