I was born in Long Beach, California, and currently live in Las Flores, California. Most of my travels have been within the contiguous States; my favorite places so far has been the coastal redwoods of northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and Glacier National Park in Montana. The farthest I've gone (so far) out of the US is down south into Baja, where my fiance and I spent some time camping on the beautiful beach and enjoying the solitude. I love being outside and exploring new places. I have immense respect for nature and do my best to leave a place the same as it was before I came there. I still believe that the golden rule is valid and do my best to treat other people with compassion and respect.
I'm an English Literature major, so it's difficult to pick out favorite books - I have so many, but a few that stand out are The Fairy Tales of Herman Hesse, pretty much anything by Shakespeare or Chuck Palahniuk, and most Newbery Award winners as well.
Regarding travel, I'd love to spend time in Spanish-speaking countries where I could learn the language and culture better. I'd especially like to visit Spain, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, and Costa Rica.
