We arrived in Louisville after a bit of traffic and felt welcomed from the start. Sarah and Chris gave us great recommendation of where to go for our only day in the city, we felt like we had known them forever. Chris even offered us blackberry pancakes in the morning and shared tips on our next stop! Both are well traveled and shared tips for our cross country roadtrip, all of which we will be taking! Room was clean, private, sunny in the morning, adjoining bathroom, and vey comfy bed. Cute neighborhood close to local bars and restaurants where we were treated wonderfully (tip: local experience at Old Hickory Inn for karaoke and cheap/surprisingly great bourbon). Easy to drive around or Uber. Enjoyed a meal at Feast for some BBQ if you're looking for some local taste. The dogs were lovely and very sweet. Thanks to Sarah and Chris for being wonderful hosts!
Dog Lovers Paradise was so great! We both just loved it.. very clean and comfy. Waking up and having a coffee pot in the room was awesome! Sarah was so welcoming and the pups were super cute and friendly.
Would definitely recommend Dog Lovers Paradise to anyone wanting to stay in Louisville!
Sarah and Chris were friendly, helpful, and wonderful hosts. The neighborhood is central to most everything you would like to do in Louisville. The room is upstairs, large with a very comfy bed and a 1/2 bath. The two dogs are very friendly, but never came upstairs if they were not invited. Plenty of parking as well. Happy to have stayed 3 nights!
Sarah, Chris, and Lauren are awesome hosts! They accommodated our plans for arrival and departure and made the weekend a breeze giving us 2 keys to come and go as we pleased. Very open to sharing their home and had great suggestions for local food and spirits. Perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood for a short drive or bike ride to downtown Louisville. Plenty of space and they made us feel at home for the weekend.
Sarah was a very friendly person but while I would like to give her an unqualified good review, I cannot. There is no door (only a staircase) separating the bedroom from the common areas of the house, meaning there's almost no sound insulation. On the night I stayed here Sarah had friends over and they were having a lively conversation in the kitchen until sometime around midnight. I told them when I was going to bed (10ish) in hopes that they would keep their voices down, and they did just long enough for me to start to fall asleep, but after about 15 minutes they became loud again and for around the next couple hours every time I started to doze off I was awoken a few minutes later by boisterous laughter or more loud talking.
In hindsight I should've just asked everyone to keep their voices down instead of crossing my fingers they would soon call it a night, but it had been a long day and I really just wanted to fall asleep with the least possible work.
Therefore I can only recommend this room to people who want to be up late anyway and/or those who are extremely sound sleepers. It's not for anyone who wants to go to bed at 10 or 11.
Before we even arrived, Sarah, Chris, and Lauren made us feel like part of the family. We communicated are whereabouts and arrived to their doorstep safely. The entire house was open to us, to come and go as we pleased (with TWO keys to the house), and it felt more like we were staying with old friends than strangers.
The dogs were absolutely amazing, well behaved, and downright adorable. They were also obviously very happy and knew they were in a good home.
The house itself was cozy and warm (even though it was snowing outside), I never had a problem feeling cold! In fact, there were times where I was pretty hot! That was a good feeling. Other than that, the house was tidy, the upstairs room was massive and fun to sleep in. The neighborhood is quiet, close to the airport, exposition center, and downtown. It's in a very centralized location from everywhere I needed to go.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again!
I was in good company here and very glad that I stayed. The bed was super comfy, too! Thanks for having me!
We stayed here over NYE; Chris and Sarah were out of town, but their roommate, Lauren, was fantastic. So friendly, helpful, and flexible! (Seriously, Lauren - you're great) The dogs were sweethearts and the house was very nice, artsy, and a good jumping-off point for exploring the city.
I would recommend this listing to other travelers, but I would say that we stayed in the upstairs room, which is not pictured. It has windows over the bed without shades, so once the sun was up, so was I! And, there's no door at the bottom of the stairs, so the sound from downstairs tends to carry. Just little comments for those that stay here and might be lighter sleepers.
Overall though, we had a great time here! Thank you for having us!
This adorable little house made a great home away from home for us. MOST COMFORTABLE BED EVER! It has a cute porch and backyard that we'll have to take advantage of next time we're in town and the weather is warmer. The neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located in Germantown, close to the Highlands, Interstate 65, UofL, etc. Did I mention how COMFORTABLE THE BED IS?! Can't wait to book this place next time!
Everything was great, the bed was big and comfortable, the room was private enough, and Sarah was very friendly and welcoming and accommodating!
The neighborhood was cute and residential, but still close to lots of cool spots, and not far from downtown!
Sarah was great. Easy to work with, left the place in great shape, responsible guest. Happy to have her with us and whatever back anytime.
Hosting Sarah was very easy .They were a quiet and pleasant couple.
Sarah was a great guest. I would welcome her back anytime!
Sarah was nice and uncomplicated. We would always have her stay at our home again.
Although I couldnt meet her personally, Sarah was a great guest, always polite and no problems at all, we communicated via text.
Great guest. Left the room in great shape. No trouble at all. Very friendly and communicative. Definitely recommend.
Sarah and her friends were great guests! They were a very fun and respectful group and it was my pleasure to accommodate them along their travels. I would highly recommend renting to them again.
They were easy to communicate with and very appreciative. Neighbors did mention the loud commotion. Things were picked up but pretty dirty. If you have a cleaning crew come in after this shouldn't be an issue.
Sarah was a great guest-- clear communication, respectful, and even returned the parking pass when she accidentally took it with her!
