My husband Wes and I are from San Francisco, CA. I'm a small business owner with a succulent design and terrarium side business, and I also work at the Museum of Craft and Design. My husband (a former cook, now general manager of a popular restaurant) and I traveled a lot in our early 20's but haven't been able to very often for a few years since I opened my first business. We love to learn about the histories of places we visit, and enjoy going out to see live music while we travel. We've traveled mostly in Southeast Asia, with a short trip to Costa Rica thrown into the mix a few years ago, and we've each backpacked around Europe separately. We're laid back travelers, we enjoy sleeping in, and we really enjoy getting to know our hosts and find out about things to do from locals rather than guide books. We used to host a lot of travelers at our house for years, in San Francisco and West Virginia, and we've spent many nights on the couches of new friends as travelers in Bali and across the U.S. on a 3 1/2 month road trip. We're still friends with a number of the people we stayed with during our US road trip.
