I am Italian and I have been in the US for 7 years, to complete my graduate studies in applied linguistics (I do a weird thing called "conversation analysis": it's fun!). I have recently moved back to Europe: I got a position at Stockholm University for two years. It's quite exciting to be back in a big town (I'm from the Milan area) and I love discovering the city with long "exploratory" walks. There's also nature around the corner here in Stockholm, so I know where to go when I need a break from city life.
I like the Airbnb experience because it allows you to approach a place from an insider's perspective and you don't get that glossy, preconceived flavor of touristy accommodations. So far I've had great stays, both in the States and in Europe. I have found very nice and helpful hosts and had great chats with them.
