The apartment was in a great location in the heart of the plateau, and was really comfortable. However, there were a few problems while staying there. On the second morning, Susana had a locksmith come in and work on the doors in the apartment at 830 with no prior notice in the morning. We were sound asleep when they came in and started banging away and playing with the doors. It only lasted 20 minutes but woke us from our sleep on holidays. Even worse was the fact that Susana mixed up the days we were supposed to check out, thinking we were gone on the friday and not the saturday. I had to return to Toronto early but my sister was still staying until the saturday and had a friend stay the last night. At 2am on friday night Susana tried to get into the apartment with friends to hang out for the night, thinking we had already checked out. Unfortunately my sister and her guest were still in the apartment sleeping when they were woken by her trying to get into the apartment. A quiet friday night turned into a really bad situation at 2 in the morning. Thge apartment was great but due to the unprofesionalism of our host we would not return there.
Great apartment in the plateau - it was much larger than we expected, and allowed us to host casual gatherings of four or five friends easily. It was only half a block from grocery stores and restaurants. It was often noisy, but no more than expected in downtown Montreal. Checking in and out was easy and Susana was very quick to answer any questions. We were there in a heat wave and while the apartment did heat up, it stayed cooler than a lot of other nearby places. We were very, very happy staying here, and would definitely do so again.
It has been a great stay for two weeks.
It is perfectly situated in Plateau, which is known for artistic neighborhood and nightlife. This area has many local indie music venues and clubs.
I found St. Catherine street is kind of cheezy, whereas Plateau was more for local, real-Montrealers.
24h grocery store and fresh fruit store, and RBC bank are just across the street, a bunch of classy/trendy bars around. There is a bus stop at which you can take a bus to Mont Royal metro station. The bus schedule is about every half an hour, but it takes about twenty minutes to walk there anyway, so it is very accessible to transportation.
One flaw was it is a bit noisy in the morning since there are trucks passing by the place.
Overall, it is more than a great place to stay!
The reservation was canceled 67 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I stayed three weeks at Susana place, the appartment is really nice and comfortable with everything you need for a long stay. The location is ideal, mont royal street is around the corner and subway is really close, with plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Plus Susana is a really nice host. I recommand it for sure.
Stayed for a week in June - the studio was perfect for my needs. There was plenty of room, a walk-in closet, burner to cook with, fridge, nice bathroom, comfy futon for sleeping.
The location - you couldn't get any better. It's right off Mont Royal so everything's nearby including a 24hour supermarket and 24hr coffeeshop (as well as plenty of other dining options), but since the studio is on a back alley/side street you're close to all this activity without having to deal with the noise or crowds.
Would definitely stay here again - loved being able to walk pretty much anywhere I wanted to go.
I did not meet Susana, but she left the keys for me, so the check-in and check-out were easy. The apartment was cozy and very clean, and the neighborhood is great. There was a festival going on on Mont Royal during my stay, and it was very convenient for me to walk over there and see everything.
The studio apartment is small but a perfect size for one, about the size of a Paris apartment, if you know Paris! It's situated in an excellent, vibrant, artistic neighbourhood, a really good location with plenty of cafes and restaurants and other shops of interest. Dollarama and a supermarket are very close by on the next block so you can pretty much get everything you need. It's a ten minute walk to the metro, but it's a pleasant walk.
I only met Susana very briefly, but through her emails she was very nice and friendly. There was a little confusion about where the studio was (at the back of the building) but her boyfriend Thomas was also very helpful in directing me.
This apartment is ideal for people visiting Montreal who will be out for most of the day and who like to eat out a lot. You can cook simple things (it has most things you need and there are two hot plates) but it's not a full kitchen. The bed is a fold out couch which is quite comfortable, and the bathroom has excellent water pressure.
The main downside is although the apartment is on a side street, it's right opposite a restaurant, and I found it pretty noisy early in the morning and sometimes late at night as they throw rubbish out.
Susana was a great host! Her apartment in Montreal was lovely, clean and very well located. If I end up in Montreal again I would definitely stay there again.
Très joli petit studio dans un quartier extrêmement sympathique. Je vous le conseille vivement !!!
Susana and I never met - but she was very easy to deal with and took great care of the apartment.
