Born a farmers daughter I spent my early years helping my parents work their sheep and wheat farm in the Riverina area of NSW. Later I became a Home Economics teacher, also teaching painting to primary students, eventually teaching the 'basics of watercolour painting' in my studio in albury.
I am a retired Teacher, Estee' Lauder Beauty Adviser and now trying to become an Artist again! I love the challenge of painting with watercolours and have made half my garage into a 'Studio'. I simply can not live without numerous cups of coffee per day, in fact I guess you could say I'm a coffee adict! I really love good book to curl up with at night, my wonderful friends to socialise with, Maisie my dog and Merlin my cat, plus a glass or two of great wine.
I love to entertain friends in my home, meeting new people and making new friends, walking my little Jack Russell Maisie along Lighthouse Beach while watching the magnificent waves breaking along the shore.
Travelling has always been a favourite experience and it is fantastic to learn of places visited by other people and to discuss the cultures, customs, cuisine and scenery of those places.
I am a cheerful, warm, vivacious, practical, glass half full person who tries to make the most of each day and enjoys a great laugh. Some of my pastimes include browsing through bookshops, cooking up a storm for family and friends, entertaining at home, dining out and my absolute favourite, painting flowers, animals, birds and landscapes with water colours. These I often sell from my home studio.
I am so blessed to live in the beautiful coastal city of Port Macquarie with it's long white, sandy beaches, interesting historical past, [the town began as a convict penal settlement] and the magnificent "Glass House Theatre" where a wonderful range of international and local entertainment is hosted throughout the year. Patrons may enjoy the ballet, musical performances, drama and local stage shows singing and Rock Concerts
We also have a good shopping presinct and many interesting things to do and see in our area such as Putt Putt golf, Tennis. Bowls, Golf, swimming, surfing, beach combing driving through the scenic hinterland. Wonderful markets showing the diversity of talent in our region. these range from Artisans markets at the wineries, farmers markets for fresh produce to our fore shore markets once a month.
