Catalina was very nice, however she was not clear about what she was looking for with the space, and we had some issues. She booked over a month before her arrival, and we had messaged back and forth for weeks. She specifically asked me two separate times about my cat, and if the cat would be on the premises. I said yes, and she wrote verbatim; "great I love cats!" She asked again a week before (still not mentioning she was pregnant), and asked about the cat. I said there is a CHANCE the cat may not be there, and in THAT EVENT, she wouldn't have to worry about it, but I couldnt and didnt confirm that. I was not able to rehome the cat...Well when she arrived, she said she was pregnant (which she never cared to mention before, and my neighbor saw her and said she looked ready to burst, so clearly a month ago she knew she was pregnant) And said she cant have the cat there because she was pregnant. I had to last minute find a place for my cat. Then after all that, she even asked for a discount to Watch the cat, even though she said she wouldn't care or feed him, and he wasn't on the premises more than a day. And since she made such a fuss about it (even though she apparently loved cats and it was "no problem to look after him") I had to put him outside unitl my kind neighbor got home who agreed to watch him for a fee. Also, I came in the first day to feed that cat, and they had spilled a plant, and left soil all over my expensive imported rug...Other than that her and her husband were respectable and I have no other complaints.
I had my place rented to other tenants until the day they arrived. I had mentioned I would be booked, but considering there was no other places to stay in Miami during that time for Winter Music Conference, they had no qualms coming in as others were just leaving. I laid out the cats duties before hand. I came in to check the apt and see if a package was left. Andrew and his quest werent there, but they left my front door WIDE OPEN! I have many valuables in my apt is this is just NOT acceptable. Also, my cat was locked in the apt, when I had made it clear it should have access to outside, or the litter brought inside. Basic and obvious care for a cat. There were cat feces ALL OVER my place. Clearly they had not been home in days to care for my cat as agreed. Bowls were bone dry, and my poor baby had no where to go potty. I quickly cleaned the mess since it was just unfair to leave an animal in this condition. After they had checked out, I came home to a disaster! Vomit in the sinks, not to mention some balloon type of device that must have been filled with some sort of drug, and im not where they administered this balloon, but it was in one of the vomits I found and had to clean. Again, no cat food or water, and my cat, locked inside with no litter. You can tell this couple was on a week long drug binge and used my apt to do it, as well as leaving for days, leaving my cat starved and locked inside with no where to go to the bathroom. Regarding the cat hair, they knew well in advance a cat would be there, hence, cat hair does get around. I hope to never get drug addicts staying in my apt again.
