This cute little place is nestled in such a great part of Paris. My wife and I stayed for 6 nights while we toured Paris for the first time. It was extremely convenient to be so close to the metro station to go see all the sights, and come back to be amongst a happening district littered with restaurants for dinner.
The apartment had everything we needed and Stanislas was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again!
We recently stayed 10 nights at The Oasis of Sévigné for a romantic getaway and had a wonderful experience!
The apartment is in the heart of the Marais and a few steps from Metro Saint-Paul. The place is very clean and cozy. We had all that we needed: comfortable futon bed, Nespresso coffee machine, well-equipped kitchen (we cooked a few meals during our stay), dishwasher, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, flat screen TV, washing/drying machine, complimentary high-speed Wifi, free international phone calls (for landlines only), slippers and a walk-in shower with rainfall showerhead. We really enjoyed drinking champagne in the beautiful private garden! What's wonderful is that even though you're in the centre of an energetic neighbourhood, once you enter the inner courtyard and the apartment, there's no street noise. It's very quiet, which we really appreciated after a long day exploring the streets of Paris.
The location is fantastic! Close to all the great restaurants/shops in Le Marais, the Picasso Museum, Centre Pompidou, Place des Vosges, La Bastille... We love walking, so we walked to Père-Lachaise Cemetery, La Seine, Ile St-Louis (try the ice cream/sorbets at Berthillon), Cathédrale Notre-Dame, Musée du Louvre, Musée d'Orsay...
Our host, Stanislas, couldn't have been more charming and welcoming! He took the time to show us how everything worked in the apartment and made great recommendations, such as Miss Manon for their croissants and pains au chocolat - we were not disappointed!
We would definitely come back and would strongly recommend The Oasis of Sévigné for its charm, its location and for Stanislas - the superhost! If you want a home away from home, this is the place to be!
Stanislas' apartment is BRILLIANT! It is in the middle of the Marais which (I believe) is one of the best parts of Paris. It is walking distance to nearly everything and if you have to go further afield the St Paul's Metro station is just around the corner.
The apartment is in a lovely old building. It is extremely quiet, very well appointed and fully equipped.
Stanislas is a very generous host. He gave us a comprehensive briefing on the apartment which is backed up by an easy to read guide of everything that you need to know about the apartment and surrounds.
A wonderful experience!
Great and quiet apartment in an extraordinary (email hidden)d of course with a great host...thanks Stanilas for your kindness and help...the best place for your stay in Paris!
The Oasis of Sevigne was absolutely perfect. We couldn't believe how close we were to everything, yet how quite the room was. The apartment was impeccably clean and stocked with anything you would need. You have so much space compared to most Paris hotel rooms that are far more expensive. The washer/dryer, towel drying rack, espresso machine, and rain shower head were particularly enjoyable.
The Metro is a 2 minute walk, as well we one of the main shopping streets in Marais. Stanislas wasn't available to check us in, but his lovely mother-in-law was there to show us the amenities.
The apartment was everything we hoped for. We will have to go back in the Spring or Summer when we could enjoy the courtyard.
We stayed at The Oasis in December 2014 and it was wonderful! The pictures and the description are very accurate. We arrived early on the redeye flight and Stanislas let us check in early and made sure that there would be someone to meet us. He could not be there to meet us himself, but he arranged for his mother to be there to show us around. The instruction book told us everything else we needed to know, and Stanislas even called the next morning to check in on us and answer any questions.
The place had everything we needed. He thought of everything, including an umbrella and slippers. The reviews about the king size bed and the wonderful shower with plenty of hot water and water pressure were helpful when I was looking for a place, and this didn't disappoint. We used the washer/dryer so that we could pack less. The internet worked well on all of our devices and the neighbors were pretty quiet.
The neighborhood is so cute. Just around the corner from the metro (which we took everywhere). Lots of restaurants and shops to explore.
Overall I would recommend this place without reservation and I would stay here again the next time we're in Paris!
Aptly named, the Oasis of Sevigne was a cozy retreat for a week of sightseeing in November with my boyfriend (we are in our 50s and 60s).
The setting could not be more welcoming and memorable: down the street from the eglise de St Paul, behind a blue door, down a corridor to the inner courtyard with its greenery, and into a blissfully quiet studio apartment with all the comforts, including a futon bed, sofa, TV, armoire, coffee maker, toaster, stove, fridge, counter for two for meals, and an awesome shower.
Stanislas provides a local's guide of his favorite restaurants, which we used as a bible... I think we ate at most of the places he mentioned, including twice at Cafe des Musees (our server Lucas was fabulous and forgiving of my badly broken French). There are many take-away places from Chinese to falafel, and you absolutely cannot miss out on Miss Manon, an amazing bakery. We never made it to his favorite markets, which was a shame, so I guess we will have to go back!
The studio is a stone's throw from Place des Vosges (one of the most beautiful public spaces in Paris), and less than 5 minutes from the Musee Picasso, recently re-opened with no expense spared to showcase the largest collection anywhere of his long and varied career as an artist. Also nearby is my own favorite (and little known), la Musee de la Chasse et de la Nature - an aristocratic home filled with antiques and displays concerning the hunt, wildlife and nature including artful specimens of taxidermy... the arrangement and displays embued with French quirkiness and charm.
My only regret is not meeting Stan himself, who was halfway across the world on his own holiday but who arranged for someone to open the apartment and give us an orientation. So dedicated is Stanislaus to being the consummate host, even when far away, he called on the second day to check in!
This is the ideal base for those who are fine with a compact and efficient studio. The neighborhood is lively, smart, well located and delightful, and the studio a perfect home away from home.
Stan was at the apt to welcome me and explained every detail of the apt, the place is amazing and accurate pictures, super nice and modern appliances! I really enjoyed to stay there and the neighborhood is a fantastic place to experience Paris.
Everything was wonderful. Stanislas was extremely helpful. The cottage/apartment was perfect and had everything we needed. I would recommend this Paris apartment to anyone. I hope to come back and stay here again in the future. Stanislas left natural, hand squeezed orange juice for us and Miss Manon's delicious croissants. Perfect host. Perfect stay!
Stanislas's place was perfect! The location was amazing and the apartment was in great condition and very well-equipped. He was home when we arrived and gave us all the necessary information. Really enjoyed staying here!
