Staying at Jeremy`s place was really nice, everything was as stated - 'clean and comfortable. Jeremy was mostly out so we didn`t even see him. The place is really close to the subway, it takes 15 minutes to reach Times Square.
Jeremy responded quickly and politely to all my messages about the room and surroundings in Astoria (maybe a few more than usual because this was my first time using this service). Though I made this booking for family members and they did not meet him in person, they found everything to be fine and in the condition described. I would be happy to do business with Jeremy again.
Good prompt reply from host.
Location is 4 blocks away from the train station and takes about 25 mins to time square. Door to door to downtown area requires 45-60 mins. No express train to town. A better option to JFK is to take E train at queen plaza and taxi from the house to queen plaza. To save the hassle.
Overall clean and spacious bedroom but the host did not mention that the living room/bathroom is not connected to your bedroom. One is required to exit your room, and walk down the corridor, unlock a door and then enter the main living space. This can be a hassle because you need to constantly lock and unlock the different doors especially in the middle of the night if you need to visit toilet. I wish the host would have stated this on the listing such that people can know of this inconvenience before booking the room.
Wifi is unstable in room, and would need to get to living room to get good connection. Bathroom is ok but you will see strands of hairs along the side of basin and the bathtub.
Limited cups available and if the host has friends over, may not have enough cups for your use unless you wash for them.
The room is right next to the entrance of the building and the road with thin walls. If you are a light sleeper, you get free wake up call by the residents exiting the building.
There is heater available but host only recommend that you on it when you are back in room and not the whole day. Could be due to the bills but it's now in winter and the room was very cold. But again, didn't really want to make a fuss but just be aware of the restriction placed on the usage of heaters.
Overall, not a good value for money stay though the neighborhood feels much safer than certain parts of Brooklyn.
Jeremy is a wonderful host, and the place is as described. Very safe neighborhood convenient to Subway. Would definitely stay there again.
The room was clean, quiet and fairly comfortable, though a bit spartan. It was less than a 10 minute walk to the subway. The neighborhood feels safe and fairly interesting -- very ethnic Greek with some intriguing restaurants, but certainly nothing fancy. It was exactly as advertised, and very satisfactory.
The room is pleasant and there is enough space for the luggage. The common used areas also are friendly and clean. Jeremy wasn't often at home, so we stayed in contact via mail what went well.
I must say, I'm fallen in love with Astoria, the neighbourhood. It's a great place to relax after a stay in the crowded and loud Manhattan - with nice shops and restaurants nearby. During my stay, I had trips from / to all major airports of New York and they are all well connected to Jeremy's home, as well as the central bus and train stations. The subway connection is perfect.
During my next stay at NYC I'm going to choose this room once more - thank you!!!
soggiorno perfetto!
This was a clean and convenient apartment, and the neighborhood was quieter than my own! :)
This was my second stay with Jeremy. He is a great host, very easygoing and laid back. His place is in a great location, convenient to Manhattan, safe, and fun to explore in its own right. The place is spotlessly clean. Highly recommended to all travelers.
I had the pleasure of hosting Jeremy and his partner and without a doubt can say they were a pleasure to host. Open, friendly, very considerate and respectful, they are 2 genuinely beautiful people. I have no hesitation in recommending them both to all Airbnb hosts. Great guests 10/10
Mahalo nui loa Jeremy, a hui hou!!!
Very pleasant and appreciative guests, would be very happy to have them visit again.
