Erin and her relaxing river side house helped make a last minute mtb trip happen. Clean, quiet, rustic with wifi and hot shower. Mtbiker erin was v welcoming. I pretty much booked the day I arrived so very accomodating. Recommended.
Erin´s Bike Stop is more than just perfect - I love that place!
Very Comfy King-Size Bed where I slept great after a good Mountainbike-Ride - the whole House is very nice and clean - a great Spot in awesome Downieville!
Erin is super-nice - we had good conversations and she helped me finding good trails to ride with my Mountainbike! She is a Pro-Mountainbiker so best person to ask about rides!
I will definitely come back and stay for a few days, go for Mountainbike-Rides, Hiking or just enjoy that unique place.
Erin's Bike Stop is a cozy country home that sits on the edge of the Downie River, as almost all the homes in Downieville do. But you don't need to be a mountain biker (I'm not) to enjoy a stay there. My bedroom was large with a King-size bed so comfortable that I wanted to stay there all morning. There are two windows, one of which faces the river, so the sound of moving water is ever-present. There is a bookcase full of diverse reading material, which made me feel at home. The bathroom is shared, but large and accommodating and right next to the bedroom. Downieville is a cool old mining town with lots of history--there's a few restaurants, general store, and a nice little museum downtown--literally a three-minute walk from Erin's place. The hills above and around Downieville are a mountain biking mecca, but I was able to hike several of them on foot. If you are there for the biking, Erin is a professional mountain biker so you'll get the best guide money can buy. A dip in the Downie river in late September was COOOOLD but an invigorating way to end a hike. This is just such a neat little town, a comfortable house and a gracious host--I can't wait to go back!
Erin is a lovely person and her house is lovely too. I couldn't have imagined a better place to call home while passing through Downieville. You will feel like a local staying here, if you're into that kind of thing. The room was plenty big, the bed was comfy and the pillows are just the right thickness! She even arranged for a mountain lion sighting while we were out mountain biking -- she's that good! Kidding, of course, but I wouldn't be surprised.
If you're in the area, you should stay here! We stopped over in Erin's rustic and very charming home while exploring gold rush country and we don't regret it one bit! Do not expect hotel-standard facilities in this former gold-rush town, instead expect a clean, well-loved place that feels homely from the second you enter. You'll be able to have a cup of coffee or meal to the sound of the river flowing past and fall asleep to the sound of cicadas at night. We didn't get to meet Erin but sure hope to do so in the future!
Erin's place was awesome. After a bit of confusion and difficulty on the technical side, we made our reservation with Erin. She was super helpful, flexible and friendly. The house is in a great location and was very easy to find.
I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend it to a friend.
Erin and her place are both wonderful! She was extremely accommodating and the space is gorgeous. Location is the easiest walk to downtown and right on the river, such a peaceful environment and exactly what you would want when staying in Downieville.
Great communication from Erin. Perfect location on the river and close to downtown.
This was a perfect stop for me! I was traveling with another AirBnBer and she was able to accommodate our situation with ease. She was always quick to reply and answer questions and guide me to the good bike trails! I do hope our paths cross again very soon!
As for the house - it's a lovely, rustic house right by the river which is getting a bit of a face lift so things aren't "perfect" and not everything is "finished". If this is a problem for you you may want to look elsewhere, but for me it was perfect. A giant kind sized bed, a yoga room, a relaxed host who bikes. Exactly what I was looking for.
Great place, great host, I miss it already. The house is super rustic and super charming – you can even hear the river flowing by! Being able to share this special place with such a great person made all the difference. Erin is delightful, thoughtful and easy going – I hope to do it again!
Erin is super sweet and a fabulous guest. She left our place in perfect condition and was great about communicating her itinerary. I highly recommend her as a guest!
Erin was a wonderful guest. The house was very tidy when I returned.
Thank you!!! Hope to hostess you again sometime.
Erin and Stosh are wonderful guests! They are friendly, fun to talk to, and easy going. They were some of our first guests to use the kitchen regularly, but were never in the way and always left it cleaner than it was before. They went mountain biking with Richard a couple times and he had a lot of fun with them. We'd be happy to have them stay with us again if they are ever in town.
nice to communicate with: agreeable and cooperative. I was out of town so did not have a personal meeting, but all went well.
