We are Steve and Katerina, a young, married international couple currently living in the coolest city on the West coast of the USA. :-) We would love for you to come visit!
Katerina hails from Prague (which is also a pretty great place!) and works at Portland State University. She is interested in theater, and if you are ever looking for what's playing on Portland's stages she will have the up to the minute insight for you. She works as a teacher, actor, theater production manager, translator, theater agent, and dramaturg (if you don't know what that is she would be happy to tell you all about it!) In her spare time she co-founded the Czech School of Portland, which provides language classes to children in Portland's Czech community every Saturday morning. She likes to do yoga, pilates, and she plays the saxophone. She speaks Czech, Italian, and German fluently.
Steve is resigned to the fact that he is boring by comparison. He grew up about two hours outside of Portland in Olympia WA. He studied at the Evergreen State College and now works in politics...but not the Democrat-Republican variety, rather he is the director of a minor political party called the Oregon Working Families Party. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it. :) In his spare time he can be found playing soccer, frequenting some of Portland's better micro-brew spots, and plotting and scheming new ways to get under the skin of the high and mighty.
We met in 1996 as eighteen-year-old exchange students in Germany. We stayed in touch over the years, but ours was an unrequited love...until a couple years ago when we reconnected and married this past summer.
We like to go skiing and hiking together and we have managed to squeeze some traveling in too. Both of us work hard and are passionate about our pursuits. We like to laugh and meet new people--and we hope that may be you!
