Flat was large enough for 1-2 people for busy london visit - location is perfect.
Good experience, best location, frendly host, recommended !
I stayed at Laurie's place for 10 days and it was the best experience I've had via airbnb. The place was very well 'furnished' and stocked (extra bedding, fresh towels, brand new saloon hair dryer etc.) Laurie was a very thoughtful host, providing almost everything you would ever need for a long comfortable stay. He was also quick to respond to any problem during the stay (few glitches like the gas and the light- which got fixed promptly the next day). I had the chance of meeting him in person; he was really friendly, well-traveled and quite open minded.
As mentioned by many other guests on here, the location of the flat is really mint! It's in Zone 2 with only 2 minute walk to the Overground, 5 minutes to the Underground (Bakerloo line- straight to Oxford/Picadilly Circus) and the bus stand (going to Camden Town) being just a few steps away!
Belsize road (which the flat is located) is rather safe even at night, and provides a good range of small restaurants/takeaways- and worth to mention the Priory Tavern (right across the street) with warm ambiance and cool chic music to enjoy few drinks at.
The only tiny downside was the noise from the bus passing by the street at night- woke me up in the middle of the night for the first few days till I got used to it lol, so ear plugs might be needed for those with sensitive ears.
Overall, this funky studio is by far a lot better deal than any hotel in central London in the same price range.
I highly recommend this flat and would stay there again when I am in London next.
Thanks again Laurie xxx
P.S- The wardrobe is a good wooden one and not like in the photo, and I must say most of the pics here don't do justice to how nice the place is
We spent 5 fantastic days in this apartment. The location is very convenient: close to the metro station and several bus stops. The house is perfect for a couple and the kitchen is really comfortable and spacious. We also enjoyed the nearby local (pub, inn, etc..). Laurie is an owner helpful and attentive. Really recommended!!!
Laurie's flat is excellently located, just a few minutes from the nearest Subway stop. The apartment is perfect for a couple and the futon is surprisingly comfortable! Definitely recommend this spot while staying in London!
We really enjoyed the 5 nights we spent in Laurie's flat and found it to be very convenient. Easy access to buses and trains to take get to wherever you want to go in London and many shops nearby. The flat is exactly as described and has everything you need. Laurie was extremely helpful before and during our stay. We arrived in London at the start of a tube strike that we did not know about. However, this was no issue to us as Laurie emailed me and left a voice mail to let us know about alternative ways of getting to the flat without using the tube.
It was the first time me and my girlfriend used airbnb and it was a very positive experience. As we wished, we had a fully equiped flat at our disposal and could enjoy our stay in London without any problems.
The flat is great, it has all the necessary appliances and more (even unbrellas, etc.), neat and tidy, does not have the "worn out" feeling to it.
Laurie as a host was helpful, frendly, and quick to reply. Although we did not need to bother him during our stay as everything was fine, I am sure he would do a good job in helping us. The descriptions of places to visit near the flat was a helpful bonus.
The only bad thing to mention abotu this flat is that TV was shit, half of the channels did not load and the signal was bad all the time.
very nice host which give you a lot of advices
flat fully furnished and clean
well situated wih buses , metro and restaurants around
Laurie's place is fantastic. Laurie does Airbnb the way it was meant to be done; a nice flat kept in good condition with a very helpful host. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a short stay or even a month. There's even a fabulous washer/dryer which really comes in handy. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. Laurie is quite helpful and willing to go the extra mile for his guests. The area is full of great little restaurants (definitely try the Turkish and French places), there's a fabulous little bakery literally nect door. There are several grocery stores, coffee shops, supermarkets, and basically everything you could ask for.
We are so happy we decided to stay at Laurie's place. A great host, a very convenient area to stay in (a subway line nearby and 2 very efficient bus lines). If you're looking for a place to stay and don't want to pay a lot or risk getting a disappointing hotel, chose Laurie's place. You'll be glad you did.
Laurie was a great host, even if we had trouble getting in touch with due to our lack of phone he tried really hard to give us everything we would need for our two weeks stay. The flat is amazing and though the gas oven posed us a challenge at first, we had everything we needed on hand (except, for some reason, butter knives. But that's a small detail).
The bed is comfortable, the kitchen furnished enough for a short stay with even some pepper and vinegar on hand for our use, the bathroom is spacious, though it is Europe, which means small heat tank, so maybe don't do the dishes just before taking a shower like I did the first day, otherwise you'll be fine.
It's really sunny during the day and the view on the street is really nice while breakfasting.
It's so well situated, too: the overground is not three minutes away and brings us to Euston Station in under 5 minutes where we can take the underground and there are buses going everywhere on hand. There is a Tesco and a Sainsbury, as well as some pubs, restaurants, outlet stores and a Poundland all very near the flat on Kilburn High. On the other direction are a lot of calm street to stroll in.
I really fell in love with the place!
