To stay in Caroline house's was wonderful, incredible and we feeling like home. The House is lovely and Very special. Caroline and your friends has done everything to give us an excellent stay. I recomend!
My father and I spent a week at Caroline's Manoa cottage; it was Dad's first visit to Hawaii. At 81, he had waited a long time to experience the beauty of the islands, so I wanted this trip to be memorable for him. It was. What I had not anticipated was how he regarded the cottage as a destination in itself. We visited many sights on the island that he greatly enjoyed, but there were times that he preferred to take Oah'u in from the serenity of our temporary dwelling. The distinct sound of the breezes rolling through the valley, the patter of intermittent rain showers, the birdsongs, and all the visual glory of this lush setting were so satisfying for both of us. The small creek that runs along the property was also a delicious feature. Caroline's cottage was cozy and calming, like a home away from home. I made many meals for Dad here, and I found I often favored dining in this relaxed atmosphere over heading out to a restaurant. Both Caroline and her kind assistant, Melissa, were only a phone call away if anything was needed. Another plus was the fact that just up the the hill were trailheads for some gorgeous walks through forested areas. It was convenient having a rental car to use (in my case with an elderly parent, a must), but in general, not necessary. Bus lines are very nearby. I am so glad to have found this gem of a place; Dad's memories of Oah'u will now be all the sweeter!
We just can't say enough good things about our experience at this location. We loved it and stayed for nearly 2 months.
First the Location: This beautiful little cottage is nestled into Ohau's Manoa hills, and a protected forest reserve. Quiet, private, beautifully green and on the #6 bus route that takes you right to the grocery store, the main campus of the University of Hawaii, a major shopping mall and the beach! TheBus system is amazing. You can get around the whole island on TheBus. The publish seasonal schedules of all the routs and they are ON TIME! No need to ever rent a car!!! Safeway, Starbucks, bakeries, a variety of restaurants and the Monoa Valley (live) Theater are all an easy bus ride away or a (20-25 minute walk).
Second the Accommodations: The cottage is a lovely, bright 2 bedroom unit with fully equipped kitchen, cable TV and wireless WiFi Internet, and access to laundry facilities. The back patio is beautiful with 2 rocking chairs and a table to enjoy morning coffee and take in the beauty around this location. Everything you need for being at home-away-from-home!
Third, our Host: We were greeted by Caroline's assistant. She waited until after midnight for us to arrive! We were greeted with a box of chocolates, fresh flowers and a basket of fruit. We were given a full tour of the property along with 2 pages of helpful information about the bus, contact numbers etc. and the keys. Her assistant was available to us by phone and by email and was eager to answer any question or help us adjust in any way. She really made us feel welcome and at home. Caroline was also available by email any time we wanted to contact her.
Hawaii is BEAUTIFUL and this "cottage" only enhanced our over all fabulous experience. I would stay there again and again.

Caroline and her family were lovely and gracious guests. We enjoyed having them stay in the apartment. They even left us decadent chocolates upon departure. So kind!
