I'm an 18 year old guy from Melbourne Australia who basically just love's to travel, but then again who doesn't so I guess that doesn't make me all that unique although I believe my personality does! Generally I stay in hostels sharing a room with 12 others and whilst at first it seemed like the closet thing to hell I've learned to really love the social aspect of it especially travelling alone as I do the majority of the time, It allows me to meet other people, make new friends and all that tacky but really important stuff like learning new languages, schools of thought etc. travel is lethal to prejudice and that's something I absolutely love about it, It gives you the opportunity to be unreservedly yourself, ultimately it grants you freedom! So far I've travelled the majority of South America over a 6 month backpacking journey through Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia & Peru. I've also visited NYC and plan to embark on my next trip in order to conquer my dream of visiting as many places as possible before the bucket is kicked along time from now considering I'm only 18, oh the joys of being young! I consider myself to be open to really just about anything and everybody, respectful and mature. Although I may be youthful ;) I find myself heavily engaged in conversations surrounding politics, human rights, the environment and society as a whole and whilst personally I'm not religious I'm highly interested by the topic and no I'm not the typical alcoholic teen, although I certainly do enjoy a drink or two or three in good company, but hey who doesn't! Now I really don't use this Airbnb service all that often even though I think it's an absolutely splendid idea! as I previously stated the majority of time is spent in hostels, although when I have utilised it I've had nothing but good experiences! from a private abode in Buenos Aires to a shared room above a fish shop in Brooklyn NYC!
Finally this silly thing is asking me if I have a life motto? Well I wouldn't say I live by one set of words... I find many to be of inspiration and I think it's a culmination of many peoples ideas, beliefs, and points of view that I live by! In saying that this is most probably the most inclusive of all of those ideas and one of the driving forces for me living my life the way I do.
“Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.” - Jon Krakauer
