I am a young professional working in DC, living with friends in a once in a lifetime apartment in one of the best locations in DC. We're normal guys slowly descending into the working stiff lifestyle only hanging on to coolness by having the best apartment of anyone we know.
I enjoy eating and cooking great food so H Street's restaurants have been happy to receive me these past 6 months. The bar experience on H St. is one of the best in the city which makes our location that much better. We've gone to many concerts at the 9:30 Club which is just around the corner as well. With all the restaurants, bars, and venues, not to mention the Metro stop across the street that takes us anywhere else we want to go, it's hard to stay bored living in NOMA.
I'm a runner so it's nice that there are treadmills downstairs in the fitness center. It also provides a space for us to do calisthenics in the form of a small dance studio. This building has one of the nicest gyms I've ever seen in an apartment complex.
I get into the holidays way too much so it was a nice surprise to see a lot of residents hanging seasonal decorations on their doors, a nice little touch of spirit which I plan on participating in. The community of residents has been really nice in general especially around the coffee machines in the morning where the building provides free coffee for residents and guests.
Music and movies take up a good amount of my free time on the weekends. Having a sweet surround sound, flat screen tv, chromecast, on demand, ect., can keep you relaxing for too long sometimes but I find a way to cope.
