Joanne went well above expectations to make my stay extremely pleasant! The apartment is very clean, spacious and in an optimal location. Joanne was very welcoming and extremely helpful. I highly recommend!
I totally had a great time at Joanne's place. The Guy Moquet station is just right in front so it's really convenient if you want to explore the city. The neighbourhood is also cool. There are a bunch of shops nearby: convenient stores, places to eat and shopping places. I would definitely recommend this place to those who want to travel to Paris. :)
Joanne was also very accommodating and nice! :D
Super - thank you Joanne!
My friend Giselle and I stayed with Joanne and Isabel at their Montmatre apartment for four nights in early September 2012. We had a great time. Their apartment is light, airy and clean as per their description, and the guest room is perfect for two friends travelling together as it has two separate beds (twin beds) and sufficient room to spread out luggage etc. While the kitchen and bathroom are small, this is usual for Paris apartments and for such a short stay we didn't mind as we were eating out each night. Breakfast (cereal and coffee from a machine) was provided also which was good.
While we only saw Joanne and Isabel for the first night (they were travelling elsewhere for the remainder of our stay) they were lovely and were very helpful with advice on things to do/see and had materials/books in the guest room to help. We particularly appreciated Isabel waiting up late for our arrival (we arrived on a very late flight and didn't get to the apartment til 1:30am).
The location of the apartment was good, Montmatre is a lovely suburb and it was convenient for seeing sights such as Sacre Coeur and going out to dinner near the Moulin Rouge. The subway stop Guy Moquet is right near the front door of the apartment which is convenient, although it does take about three subway changes to get there from the airport (Charles de Gaulle) but once you're there its relatively easy to get around to the main sights of Paris by subway changing to different lines.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment to others.
Joanne and her lovely apartment were absolutely splendid! All of the instructions prior to my arrival were precise and easy to follow, and Joanne was able to welcome me and offer wonderful neighborhood and restaurant suggestions. She provided city maps and guide books which were very appreciated, and the apartment is located in such a great neighborhood, easily accessible by train and great for walking around and exploring. The room and apartment are just as the photographs portray, if not more beautiful, and I could not have wished for a better host. Highest recommendations, and I hope that I am able to visit again soon!
Joanne and Isabel were fantastic hosts. When we arrived, Joanne made us a cup of tea and we sat on the couch for a chat! She answered all of our questions and provided us with maps and information about Paris. Both Joanne and Isabel were very friendly and made us feel very welcome in their home. The apartment is very close to the metro and only a short walk to the fabulous area of Monte Martre. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Paris thanks to these lovely ladies and their wonderful apartment!
We thoroughly agree with all ten previous reviews, so as not to bore you please read reviews below! Just to add we found there was a good supply of hot water for refreshing showers, as well as a good quality bed there are good curtains that block light well & allow for good lie-ins. For me, as a fairly light sleeper, the street noise wasn’t overly intrusive. For tea drinkers that like to brew up, there’s even a teapot or 2. Helpful tips from Joanne on how to use the inexpensive Paris bike scheme made our look around Paris hugely memorable – a great way to get around & see the city, without getting tired feet!
Joanne and Isabel are two fun, easy going, and knowledgable hosts. Having experienced the world, it made it easy spark conversation and make connections with both of them. They are wonder hosts and my girlfriend and I very much appreciated their kind hospitality.
We spent three nights at their beautifully decorated apartment in Montmartre. They live less than a block from the Metro and walking distance to the touristy but beautiful Sacre Coeur and restaurant filled streets like Rue des Abbesses. They shared with us a number of restaurants and spots that local Parisians like so feel free to ask for their suggestions! Next time we're in Paris, we'll definitely stay with them again.
Joanne and Isabel were lovely hosts, really nice, down to earth people which made my stay in Paris so much more enjoyable.
The apartment is in a fantastic location, very close to the metro and Sacre Couer and the very cool area of Montmartre.
I would definitely recommend staying with Joanne and Isabel and hope to stay again when im next visiting France!
Joanne and Isabelle really make you feel like home. We stayed at their place three nights and were extremely jet-lagged. As a result we did not cross paths much. The apartment is comfortable and really clean, as I was traveling with my husband they gave us the more comfortable room for a couple. How considerate. They are both really sweet and helpful, my only regret is that we did not have more time to get to know both of them.
Last, but not least... for people who like walking ( me and my husband often walk up to 4-5 miles a day) - the apartment is very nicely located, if you want to can take the subway, if not... it is possible to walk. One night we got stranded in the middle of center city as the metro stopped running and we walked home. It took us only 40 minutes. The neighborhood is safe at night, and even if you don't get stranded there are lots of cool places you can walk to. (far closer than the center).
Will stay there again.
Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Joanne is a wonderful, trustworthy person. Her apartment in Paris is like a home. It is located in the Heart of the city, with it's own metro stop and steps away from cemetery montmartre, one of my favorite spots. I would suggest this apartment to anyone. I would also suggest Joanne as a host or a guest, she lovely, smart and responsible.
I met Joanne in Australia earlier this year through mutual friends. I have not necessarily known her for long but I know that I will be friends with her forever. A true genuine person with class and style. She has an adventurous spirit with a love for traveling, just up my alley. I was lucky to stay with her in her place in Bronte Beach in Sydney in February and later this year in Montmartre in Paris. Unbelievable and unforgettable experiences she has provided me with on my year around the world travel. I would definitely recommend that you stay at her apartment in Paris. It's located near a metro stop and bus lines, amenities and walking distance to many Parisian sights. It's comfortable and overall a perfect place to stay in Paris.
